So off to a decent start, 5-2 going into a big series @ LAA.

Not sure what to predict this time with this team. We probably will have some moving parts in the infield, outfield pretty much set unless injury (sorry Michael Taylor). Can we hold off LAA for 1st this season??

6-2 now, with us actually scoring the most runs per game in the league. Who woulda guessed?

Got the sweep! :D The offense looks amazing right now, or maybe its just the angels pitching haha. AJ Griffin is going to have a great season

Sad to lose Sizemore for the season :( though we have options in AAA for 2B along with Sogard, I thought Sizemore would be a big contributor at 2B and 3B this season. Now his career is in jeopardy :(

Hopefully we can keep it rolling vs the Tigers. Bartolo tomorrow.

we still have Adam Rosales on the DL,as our right hand 2B,and yes I hated seeing Sizemore go down, but Adam will be a big help, and also once Hiroyuki comes off the DL,Jed can also play 2B. so we'll be ok

Donaldson with the boomstick

9 games and counting... not to nitpick, but wtf is Andy Parrino doing on a roster?

I think they wanted someone who could play defense at SS if needed, because Lowrie is mediocre defensively. Weeks can't play SS and Green isn't known for his defense.

Guessing the lineup vs Verlander today will be no Coco, no Cespedes unless their injuries were minor. Hope we can win #10!

we knew it had to come to an end sometime, now we need to get back at it tomorrow, start a new streak, with the Astors coming to town, and playing a lot better than when we played them last!

Taylor is up to take Cespy's spot...

Sucks the streak ended but it took a Cy Young guy to end it. Very nice. Looking forward to seeing Taylor get a crack again, because he's got enormous potential.

I think the big question this year for me is: will Beane pursue a top name via trade? Who will be available? Who's our minor league bait? Outside of Addison Russell, there is no one in the minors that I see as untouchable.

Not sure, doubt they trade Choice, not that he's untouchable, just that Crisp and Young are on their final year of contracts right? Don't know that we are very deep at CF in the system. Idk if they want to trade any of the pitching prospects, Straily and Gray come to mind. Taylor deserves a chance somewhere.

Hopefully we can get another sweep vs the Astros, though they are playing better now. Chris Carter can still mash.

Choice is probably our biggest name outside of Russell, but I keep hearing how Grant Green is so close to ready... plus we always can put Cespedes in CF. Not the best option, but he can handle it. Plus I dont think Crisp is going anywhere, but thats only speculation.

I'd love to try and find an elite bat this year, plucked from a struggling team. Atop that list for me is Chase Headley. I'm wondering if a Donaldson - Choice - mid-prospect gets the deal done? I'm willing to go higher though... Headley mashed 31 HRs playing out of PetCo.

I've been watching Rivercats games regularly on milb.com last couple of seasons, (grew up in Sac thats why I'm an A's fan), Green's bat looks ready, though big hitters on the Cats and throughout the PCL have struggled adjusting to the majors. Green's glove however, not sure he's ready for any position really. From what I've seen he tends to get lost when they play him in the outfield, and doesn't particularly have great range or arm when they play him at 2B, SS, and 3B. Seen errors on routine plays. I'm guessing he will be on the team as some sort of super utility player, but if he doesn't produce offensively then he could be traded.

Yea Headley would be awesome, guessing the Padres will be getting some big offers for him this trade deadline

Sounds a little bit like Scutaro to me

A's acquire Casper Wells for 100k... love that move. Not more than 3 years ago, Wells was a fast-riser in the Mariners system... now he's our stopgap OF. Beane is doing work

Well the Casper Wells era is over. What was your favorite moment?

Glad to see us take a couple back to back. Without Cespedes, we really are an average team. He's the catalyst

Crisp, Anderson to the DL

They called up Montz, I'm guessing cuz he can play multiple positions and they might need the depth for the 10 game road trip

Hope Straily can give us some good starts. Hope anyone can give us some good starts. Basically only great start I can remember was Colon in the rain game in Boston
