Billy Beane...Best GM in baseball?

I am a cubs fan...and let me tell you...

Beane nabbed himself a legit young #2-3 starter in Gallagher.

He got a legitimate defensive catching prospect in Donaldson.

He got a big time speedster in Eric Patterson to hit at the top of the order.

And then he fleeced the Phillies for 3 of their top 10 prospects.


If he makes the trade for Jason Bay...he should be considered one of the best GM's in baseball. Period.


I know A's fans are uspet that everytime he builds a star he trades him away...but think about it...

If he thought that the A's had all the pieces necessary: hitting AND pitching...then your rotation would still include Haren, Harden, Hudson, Mulder and Zito...possibly Blanton as well...so be patient A's fans...your GM knows what he is doing...the Cubs have finally got one that does and its taken ONLY 15 years to find him.

A's will have a WS winner in approx 3-4 years....or at the VERY LEAST a perennial division winner.
