While we all wish Trevor could last forever, looks like the Padres found his possible heir in this year's Rule 5 draft:

Reasons to like Carlos Guevara:

- Look at that K rate

- He throws a screwball


The Padres also selected Michael Gardner in the Rule 5 draft. Gardner's a former Yankees thirteenth-rounder with groundball tendencies.

That IS impressive.

If theres one thing Towers and crew do better than just about any managing outfit in the league, its find solid bullpen talent. Who knows if that guy will be our closer one day, but he certainly seems like a good pick.
