Why do we have to watch and listen to this crappy team while the owner hides in Texas?
I hope his wife takes him to the cleaners.

I rather doubt he is "hiding" from anyone. There is no rabid Padre fanbase to hide from. We San Diegans are pretty chill about our baseball team (well, most of us are), at least compared to other large cities.

One of the reasons more money isn't poured into this team, the pressure from the public just isn't quite there.

No question its been an awfully rough season for the Pads, though. The strategy of making "lateral" moves and just sort of remaining marginal contenders in a weak division blew up big time this year. Maybe now we'll stop focusing on low priced veterans and actually try to move forward with this team during the offseason.
