The Giants moved their Triple A team from Fresno to Sacramento today. I follow(ed) the Grizzlies on facebook and now follow the River Cats, and there's predictably a lot of bitterness of both sides. Sucks for the local fans of the teams, but here's what it means for me:
I currently own all the Giants minor league hats. Now I own a Houston Astros minor league hat. Here's what the River cats hats look like:
So, I'm disappointed in the move. These hats stink. Ordered one today.

I live in Sacramento so this is good news, just means I'll be able to see our young boys play more often

Awesome. I'd be there every night.
Did you go to any of their games as an A's affiliate? I've been reading that their park is one of the best minor league parks in the county.

A few, back in the day everyone was going to their games because they won like 4 Pacific Coast League Championships in a row. Plus they had Thirsty Thursdays, when beer was $1 a cup (8 ounce cups though). Line took almost 45 minutes to an hour but you could take up to 4 cups at a time
