Fine, since Almonte's firmly entrenched as the leadoff hitter! :)

Yeah...just throw us a bone.

He just missed. One of many chances teams will give him to do something with Cano on 1st base, I think. [Not that I'm saying he'll do anything with those chances. It's definitely a concern].

I have no idea what to make of our bullpen as a unit. My learning curve is going to be a work in progress.

Mike Trout is just sickeningly good.

I find him less and less likable the thicker his neck gets. My hope is the next six years of career go by with nary a playoff appearance.

Wilhelmsen v. Pujols...hold on to something.

Is Dustin Ackley going to make me look at that beard all year?

Smoak's hitting moon shots, Morrison's stealing bases, Ackley's clearing bases with a triple...it's glorious!

We're contenders! :rocking:

Anyway...nice to win an opener...Felix 11 K's...Ackley and Smoak multi hit, multi RBI games...satisfied.

Goodnight ya'll.

I'm cautiously optimistic. If Wilhelmsen has his control back, Pryor comes back healthy, and Rodney doesn't walk the world, we could be pretty good with Farquhar and Furbush as solid options.

That ended up being one of the most enjoyable M's games I can remember in recent memory. They started off a little shaky but they ended up with a performance where damn near everyone contributed.

If Smoak could just be GOOD. Like...275 w/ 25 HR good, we would win the West. I have zero doubts about that. So long as our pitchers come back healthy.

But I feel like this is such a tease and Ackley and Smoak will simply regress to what we have been used to.

Great game to watch though. Felix was nasty and Smoak murdered that homer.

If nothing else, we can say that at some point this season, we were in first place in the AL West.

Almonte does it again with an RBI double! Seeing Josh Hamilton belly flop while trying to corral the ball really makes me count our blessings that he rejected Seattle. Jack's been trying to land is superstar bat for awhile. Hamilton used us as leverage, Fielder seemed less than enthused, Justin Upton rejected us...so we get Cano, and he's better than any of them.

And now Cano gets the IBB, bases juiced for Smoak...make 'em pay, buddy.

I'll be damned...Cano might have some protection right behind him. What is this devilry?
