Royals @ Mariners

Post#1 » by Bulltalk » Thu May 8, 2014 8:35 pm

So begins a stretch where 18 out of our next 23 games are at home, and the majority of teams beatable opponents. Let's make some hay while the sun doesn't shine.

Iwakuma gets the start tonight, his second since his return from injury.

Ive been mainly watching the draft, but top 6th and it seems like Kuma is dominating.

You dont leave Kuma in after that great 8th inning?

Uhhhh......ehhhh....

As for the draft. Im a Raiders fan and we got Mack at 5, who I had as the best overall player. WINNING.

Friggin Iwakuma. Brilliant.

Come on Rodney...hold it. He deserves the victory.

The dreaded lead-off walk. On four pitches no less...

Why do you take out Kuma? He dominated the 8th. 92 pitches. **** me.

Sometimes I wonder about such things.

But hey, WE WIN! Again...

Always an adventure with Rodney. I can't tell if the M's win because of him or in spite of him.

He probably could have closed it out on his own, but it was only his 2nd game so I get why they pulled him.

If Felix can get it back, our starting pitching can keep us in the race all summer long methinks.

Nice of 'Kuma to give the bullpen a breather tonight. He's so damn efficient...we survived without him, but we can excel with him.

We've got 3 hits through 7. This could be a long and boring homestand.

Sometimes you just lose a game. From start to finish. It's just one game, though.

What a boring game. Offense is lifeless, and Maurer was giving up base hit after base hit. Look at the weirdness:

Oh. Maurer started? Why? I feel like he just sucks the life out of our club. **** him.

Hey, Justin Smoak just cranked a legit 2 run home run into the RF bleachers to give the M's the lead. That was a thing of beauty.

I must say...the enigma that's bumming me out more than anyone else is Ackley. More than any other hitter we've drafted, this guy was supposed to be the closest thing to a sure thing as a hitter. He's done it consistently on every level he's played on in his life, excepting the major league level.

Is Ackley never going to be the consistently productive and efficient hitter I thought he'd be? I thought it was just a matter of time with him. Damn. I have to consider the notion that he peaked somewhere too soon, that he's not going to be what I thought he'd be from everything I've read and heard about him.
