Its finally here! Im gonna miss the game tonight unfortunately and its gonna be very difficult not to check the score the entire night until I can get home and watch the recording... Hopefully Dallas wins big to send a message in game 1, as we will see just how much rest vs. rust comes into play. Kidd, Terry, and Dirk will hopefully play well, but im really looking forward to the Chandler/Haywood vs. Perkins matchup. Go Mavs!!! Blue out!

Rule #1: DO NOT TURN THE BALL OVER!

Mavs will look rusty in the 1st half, but Dirk will lead the team to storm back and steal the W in the 2nd half.

Waiting for the great Van Exel pic and quote too.

Like i said in the series thread, we have been resting all week and OKC is coming off of a grueling 7 game series, no reason we shouldn't win this

After 9 days of daydreaming about the Mavs winning the championship, game 1 of the WCF (it's been a while) has finally come! I'm excited as hell and can't wait til tipoff.
Hopefully, we come out focused and play as if this was game 7. :D

Dirk should be a monster this series. I want to see him come out aggressive in game 1.

Only like to use that force against the evil Fakers.
If Mavs lose tonight, I may start again, but we will see. :D

The sweeping route of the Lakers has planted a seed of expectation in me. That was way too big a feat for Mavs to pull off for me to continue on without expectations. Mavs should come out and kick OKC straight in the mouff (yes, mouff not mouth)!!!

When you beat the Lakers in 4, you are the big dogs now and you need... no, you MUST act like it!!!

Dallas gets a convincing statement win tonight. I think they let OKC know,.... not this year youngsters! :wavefinger:

GO MAVS!!!

New bit, that quote doesn't fit with OKC like it does LA, cuz everyone already knows we can and should beat this team. The NVE quote goes back to 05-06 when I use to make the playoff game threads, that was a staple and so was this famous Dallas quote which I'll will augment just a bit....

Jimmy Johnson wrote: "We will win the ballgame [series],"And you can put it in three-inch headlines. We will win the ballgame."

The Dallas Mavericks are a better basketball team than Oklahoma City Thunder. They have home court advantage and should wn this seriess. No ifs ands or buts about it.

Having said that, I'm a little nervous/concerned about the game tonight. 9 days off is a month. Wouldn't doubt it at all if the Mavs come out a bit sluggish really, especially with our first unit I wouldn't be surprised if we're down 10-5 4 mins into the game.

Still... Win this game, win game 2 and the series is over. Mavs is in 5 if they win tonight, Mavs in 7 if they don't.

Go Mavs.

It's going to be nice kicking back and actually being able to enjoy watching the game live. Game one is a must win, IMO, so we better get the job done on our homecourt.

This from this moring on who will gurad Durant:

"We’re going to have three or four guys ready to guard him," Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said. "[Shawn] Marion will guard him for sure."

Surprisingly, DS had the most success in the regular season, but he now has the task of guarding Westbrook. But I expect that Brewer will get a few extra mins this series, to rely lock down on Durant and make him work for his shots.

Mavs are favored to win by 6.

Referees:
Joe Crawford - OKC went 2-6 this year.

***Laker fan here**** (However not a troll)

Congrats on your playoff wins...Much deserved

I wanna see Kidd get a ring
I wanna see Dirk get a ring
I wanna see Cuban get a ring
I think Terry will make sure you guys get a ring

Again i am a Laker fan always will be but until the end of the season i will be pulling for Dallas to win it all.

They say you guys are too old....I disagree (experience=winning)
They say Dirk is soft .....Dirks numbers speak for itself (dont respond to that ish)
The Mav's have paid their due's and no other team in the playoffs have

Slow the thunder down play defense, keep the guards out of the lane, and stay home on Durant and you will be planning to see JaWade in the finals

Mav's in 7

Go Mav's

We need to not turn the ball over. That and rebound. If OKC doesn't get 2nd chance points or easy baskets, there is no way in hell that we should lose a game to them. They have one great scorer, and very good one and thats it.

I don't expect Harden to be much of a factor until they play at home. I feel he has the JR Smith type synodrome where he only produces at home. [I'll wait for someone to provide stats disproving that notion].

Anyways, two scorer won't beat this defense. Marion will make Durant work for his as much as anyone in the league. Westbrook will get his, but those two don't provide enough firepower.

I'm worried about the first half, but still say Mavericks in 5.

Fighting a stomach bug tonight, probably won't be online posting. Really feeling rotten.

I'll be whispering Go Mavs between trips to the toilet. Too much information?
