I think RC should change his poor starting 5

[Mavs starting 5 in PO from statscube ]

Mavs should keep their best 5man unit as long as possible.

And Peja and Barea should play less 5min. Its tough for RC but it is needed.

I think DS should play along with JET and Dirk to cover his lack of offence.

Nevermind who we're playing against. Pick up slang with one another and run. Play the heart out and we'll be fine. Cheat won't win. Book it.

Let Marion defend Wade.
Let Kidd defend LeBron.

Marion has the best shot of defending Wade.

Someone other than DIRK needs to take smart shots and help DIRK. Jet is too stupid and loves taking pullup jumpers on the 1 on 4 fastbreak.

I liked getting JJ in the game early against Bibby. I would rant and rave that Carlisle shouldn't take Dirk out till Wade and Bosh sit at the 1 min mark, but its not gonna do any good.

Just like game 2, this is a must win. If Terry and Barea finally come to play, the Mavs will have a good chance to win this game and, eventually, the championship.

Just go for it!

It will be another tough tight game tonight, but no matter what happens, we must win tonight, everyone knows this. And I think we will.

I was looking at the stats when Brewer was inserted into the lineup.
I know it is a small sample size, but it appears when he is in the lineup, it gave us a larger advantage than any other matchup configuration.

Marion, Dirk, Brewer, Kidd and Chandler is a real good combo...

Peja, Dirk, Brewer, Kidd and Chandler appeared to be a KILLER combo.

Marion, Dirk, Terry, Kidd and Chandler is also a good one.

It also appears Terry, Barea, And Peja are good WITH DIRK ON THE FLOOR AT THE SAME TIME. Haywood or Chandler at center.

I have said this before... I personally would bench Peja for Brewer. But if Carlisle continues to use Peja, HE MUST BE ON THE FLOOR WITH DIRK. He cannot sub for Dirk. There is no one else who can get him open shots besides Dirk. The stats only back up what my eyes have seen.

Someone said starting Terry would be an interesting idea....

@Brooklyn_34

JJ+JET+Dirk might be not bad but
1) JET is struggling to play with Barea becasue he must play at SG for Barea.
2) Kidd plays less minutes with Dirk because of Barea

JET struggles against bigger defenders. Spoelstra knows well. Check when JET played as the starter this season. He played well. Thats why I think JET should play in the starting lineup. And Heats Startingline up is not great. I believe Mavs can take a lead in 1Q, 3Q and Crunch time.

I wanna give Roddy 14min behind JET and let JET play as the backup PG. So, there is no size issue and Mavs can use Brewer/DS at SG against Wade/LBJ in the 2nd unit to cover Peja .(Peja vs Miller)
If JET@pg doesnt work, then Mavs can use Barea. Its a flexible reasonable rotation. RC should try it.

@ASIMO

I hear you. It's really frustrating not having a second player who can create a shot and who isn't a defensive liability.

During the really important games, you get to see that not having that guy just causes so many more issues in terms of finding correct rotations, bench play, etc.

Having that second guy makes things much easier in games like this-- fewer things to worry about.

People now hopefully understand this.

Miami really does not have much to worry about save for defending Dirk and the 3point line. That's it.
They don't have to worry so much about rotations or any of this-- they have 2 top 5 players and an All Star Bosh who can help out.

Miami has weaknesses, but we appear not to have the coaching and firepower to make them pay.

My goodness, Chalmers is having a wonderful series. Terry can't even guard Chalmers???!!!! I also though we would be able to REALLY chew them out at the center position. I thought we would also be able to really exploit them at the Point Guard position.

This is just really frustrating to watch.

The most important factor to the game is that Marion needs to be defending Wade. Kidd has a better shot at defending LeBron than he does with Wade.

Jump shots need to fall at a high % or Mavs lose.

I think you need to lock defenders. Marion on Wade all game long. He don't sit unless Wade sits. 1-on-1 with no double teams. Stevenson and Brewer need to rotate on Bron all game long, and always give hard doubles from whoever is guarding Haslem and Anthony. Make those two chumps beat you. Only rest Dirk and Kidd when we have double digit leads. This is the f'ing Finals! Who needs rest anyway?!?!?! Only 4 more games to go potentially.

Carlisle is a IDIOT! Sit Barea and Peja's @$ses down and play Brewer and Butler. There is no tomorrow! This is our Game 7!!!!!

This just in:

Looks like JJ is starting over DS for 'firepower'

If this is true, this series is finished

couldnt agree with you more.

[about Chalmers]
Chalmers is killing Mavs while Barea is guarding him.
Basically Barea guards Chalmers 50% in his PT.
The, look at Chalmers vs Barea, especially +/-.

http://www.nba.com/statscube/player-vs- ... 6;season=p

Surely problem is Mavs can take a lead or not.
I think Chalmers killing Mavs not for his 3pt but his D against Barea.
He is killing Bareas playmaking.

While Barea rests, Mavs is winning in Chalmers minutes. Surely this is not problem.

We dont need assist machine or layup machine for the backup PG.
We need just a productive PG who knows how to win. Absolutely its not Barea.

last game Barea vs Bibby did work. Lets hope same things happen.
Knowing it never happens, I hope DS plays with JET in the 2nd unit instead of Barea.

Let's pray it's just a rumor.

I don't think the starting lineup should be changed; Stevenson has actually been fairly decent so far. The only player I would replace him with is a healthy Caron Butler - and Butler isn't healthy (yet), unfortunately.

Oh, and what about Brewer? Will he finally get some playing time? He'd be much better than Peja or Cardinal.

I can SOMEWHAT understand that JJ for Stevenson switch. I guess Carlisle was hoping Barea would be more successful paired up against Bibby. We should be scoring more when Bibby is in the lineup.
We have not exploited that enough as I pointed out. I guess this is Carlisle's answer.

I guess Cardinal over Peja because Cardinal can hit 3s like Peja, but at least Cardinal can set hard screens and get physical and Peja cannot.

We'll see what happens.

But I think Brewer still should get some minutes.

Numbers don't lie. Stevenson's +/- is horrendous. We need a fast start from the beginning. We ended playing catch up most of the time. Oh well it would be great if last year's Roddy is available. This is the perfect situation to start him.

Call me crazy, but I like JJ starting. JJ has been destroyed by Chalmers, getting his minutes while Bibby out there could make an impact. Of course all Miami would have to do is put Chalmers in the 3 mins in and it would prolly swing.

Not sure who plays Point guard to start the 2 and 4 quarters then?

Time to hit shots for the guys who didn´t yet. Thats the day the team can show us once again what playoff run this is. (If they lose it ...sad for a moment but no matter what..... a great year)

Get yourself confident and win this one. After that.... everyone should belive they are capable of winning the series and play 120 % for the rest of the series.

Lets Go Mavs!!!
