Dallas @ New Orleans

Post#1 » by Imon » Fri Feb 22, 2013 9:30 pm

Tonight Dallas (24-29) faces off against the New Orleans Pelicans :D (19-36)

Game is 7:00 PM Central Time on Fox Sports Southwest.

Anthony Davis has quietly been playing a good rookie season even though Damian Lillard has, mostly through necessity, all but clinched the ROY award.
Ryan Anderson, last year's MIP, has also had a good season off the bench and leads the league in 3-pointers made (though he's attempted 50+ more than Curry).
Greivis Vasquez has also had a great year and should be on the short list for the Most Improved Player Award.

On the other side, Austin River, the 10th pick of the 2012 draft, has had a pretty bad year averaging 6/2/2 on 35% shooting playing 23 MPG.
Pelican's shooting guard Eric Gordon is questionable for tonights game due to knee issues. Gordon is averaging 16.5/1.5/2.7 on 40% shooting.

For the Mavs Chris Kaman is still out due to the concussion and is questionable Sunday against the Lakers.
Should be a good game, Dallas is a lackluster road team this year and the Pelicans have been playing better ball as of late.

That's it for now.

GO MAVS!

I remember being really bummed that we didn't get Austin Rivers inthe draft... Looks like we dodged a bullet there... Granted, Cunningham hasn't done anything at all, but still. I like our chances, since we've played great ball for 4 of the last 5 games. I wonder if Morrow will get any minutes

Interesting stats for today:

Dirk is a little over 300 points from passing Ewing on the all-time scoring list. He is 500 behind Garnett although KG is still playing at a pretty high level.

Vince is 3 points behind Gary Payton who is 28th on that list.

Interestingly Shawn Marion is 88th on that list ... I expected him to be higher. Brand is 93rd.

Anyone else thinks the Hornets jersey is almost like camouflage against the wood court?

Vince has knocked down 15 threes in the last 3 games, and with that three he ties Gary 'Glove' Payton in the all-time scoring list... Vince seems to be breaking records on a weekly basis of late!

Lol, I was pissed that we gave up 3 offensive rebounds then we get 3 offensive rebounds on the other end.

We should be up by way more after the 1st.

We shot 65% from the field and they shot 39%. Offensive rebounds and turnovers killin' us.
Obviously our shooting is going to cool down in the second half, like it did yesterday, but with shooting this hot we should be up by double digits.

Seriously... is there a layup line out there?
Looks like the Hornets are doing layup drills.

Can the other team announcers finally get over the Tyson Chanlder/JJ barea thing already? It was 2 years ago.

mayo threes have gradually gotten worse...

vince has infact taken over him in most threes this year, which kinda seemed impossible the way Mayo had started the season.
