Should we rest all starters for the final Memphis game?

Post#1 » by Darren » Tue Apr 15, 2014 12:07 am

Here we go:

C - Samuel Dalembert / Bernard James
PF - DeJuan Blair / (Brandan Wright)
SF - Jae Crowder / (Vince Carter)
SG - Ricky Ledo / Wayne Ellington / (Devin Harris)
PG - Jose Calderon / Shane Larkin / Gal Mekel

The depth chart is looking like that:
C - Samuel Dalembert / Berard James / DeJuan Blair
PF - DeJuan Balir / Jae Crowder
SF - Jae Crowder / Ricky Ledo / Wayne Ellington
SG - Ricky Ledo / Wayne Ellington / Shane Larkin
PG - Jose Calderon / Shane Larkin / Gal Mekel

We rest Dirk, Matrix, and Monta Ellis. We may likely rest Vince Carter, Devin Harris and Brandan Wright as well. So we have 8 men in rotation. We monitor Calderon and Dalembert's minutes as well.

We ain't getting the 6th seed. GSW won over Minn effectively ending that idea, but Dallas matches up better against OKC than they do SAS. We will still lose, but we can probably steal a game or two from OKC.

A while ago I'm hoping that GSW will lose, I just think we have a better chance against Clipps.

Unfortunately, Kevin Love can't do us a favor. So is Rubio. If we really want to avoid Spurs, we should take it all out for the Memphis game. I guess Memphis wants Spurs. But I don't see all the difference. OKC is less consistent and less of a 3 point threat. This alone won't make much difference. It's still like climbing up hill.

Nope. Dallas needs the 7th seed so they need to play everyone.

If we rest shouldn't we rest Dirk / Ellis / Marion / Calderon / Carter / Harris / Dalembert / Wright all the main players .

And go with

PG-Larkin / Mekel
SG-Ledo / Ellington
SF-Crowder / Ellington
PF-Blair
C-James

Would you play Dirk 39 Minutes an Ellis 43 Minutes to try to win the Memphis game ? That's what it took to win the Phoenix game .

Dirk and Ellis could play but I don't think they come anywhere close to playing the minutes could take to beat Memphis at home . Just so we can play Okc and get rid of the pick instead of playing Spurs and possibly keep the pick

Play to win at this point...no sense sand-bagging to play a team that we haven't beat in forever.
Would rather take my chances with OKC...a team we were able to blow out.
And 50 wins would at least give us somewhat of a lure for FAs in the off-season and would help in considering this a successful season.

POs start tomorrow night as far as I'm concerned.

Against SAS, we have to put Calderon on bench and bring Harris to starting lineup. We need more production from our bigs to avoid being eaten up one-on-one. Our struggle start with our zone defense. SAS's among the best team shooting 3 balls. We've no answers for Danny Green. I'll give Crowder a try. We can't avoid to go too small against them. I think Wright's learnt to avoid jumping on defense every time. Giving opponent respect is a good starting point. But talk it like we can't beat them is non-sense. We've got swapped just because of RC's set minutes for regular season. It's not the same in playoff.

And I don't think playing OKC is as great as it sounds. Unless Westbrook loses his mind like he's playing at AAC last time, I don't see we can get a win as easily as we think. LAC is not an option now. We can focus on MEMPHIS game now. It sounds like the Mavs want 50 wins. We'll see. Go Mavs~!

Who is saying OKC would be easy???
I think the point is which team do we match up better against. Nobody is saying we can't beat SA but OKC is a team we have played well against compared to SA and OKC probably fears us a little more than SA does as a first round opponent.

We need to win the game. Don't want to play San Antonio. Gotta play everybody. Besides, the guys have been off for what? 3 days now. They've had plenty of rest.
