While what he did is very cool, lets not feel sorry for Dirk. He has made over $200 mm playing hoops.

Maybe we keep Devin's contract unsigned to see if he's effective after surgery.

Dirk's really a man with heart and soul. That's why he's the franchise player for us. I wonder if Ellis would do the same to stay next summer.

Re: Dirks actual contract. 25mil/3yr
it's amazing this isn't getting more headlines.
his previous deal he took 80 mil instead of 96 and that extra cap room resulted in a championship.
now he has rejected max offers worth 100+ million and instead chooses to stay in dallas for a measly 8 mil a year. i thought a fair deal for him was 12 mil a year. dirk is the most loyal superstar to a franchise i have ever seen. after 2011, some people thought dirk lost his motivation. well guess what? dirk is so motivated to win he walked away from a 9-figure deal and took a drastic paycut to cover the expense of parsons. dirk's legacy will be epic. he will die a maverick and with the moves this team has made he has a chance to get a second ring. this team made major upgrades this offseason, and with the success against the spurs and carlisle's greatness, i am really optimistic that dallas will be a serious contender for the next few years.

Dirk is awesome, you guys are lucky to have a class act like that playing on your team. I'm just hoping KD is that loyal!

Dirk Nowitzki...the anti-Melo lol
You're very lucky to have a great and unselfish player like him. I've always been a big fan.

3 years $25 million is not a "pay cut" from his open market value at age 36. May be a pay cut from what his max is. Pay cut from his last pay check. But it is not a "pay cut" from open market value.

Dirk's left 70M on table to say the least. Great leader! Dirk deserves a lot of loves.

what the hell are you talking about ? He was offered two max contracts, one by the Lakers and one by the Rockets. And he turned them down to sign for 8 mil a year instead. So yeah I'd say he took a massive pay cut from his open market value.
