ESPN: Trix to sign with Cavs

Post#1 » by Mr Grant Hill » Sun Aug 17, 2014 4:07 pm

Sources told ESPN.com that Marion informed the Cavaliers this weekend that he intends to sign with them this month despite the fact that Cleveland can only offer him a minimum deal.

a bit disappointing if you ask me. apart from dirk, he was the last player left from the 2011 championship roster. and the first thing he does after his contract is up is ... well ... hug lebron's nuts. you know, the guy he beat in the finals, the guy who made fun of dirk.

don't know, just doesn't feel right. does he need another ring that bad? is he concerned about his legacy? i'm afraid he just flushed his legacy down the toilet.

but whatever... good luck, trix. thanks for 2011.

Yeah, I gotta say I was hoping it'd be anywhere except Cleveland or Miami.
He was a pro here. Thanks for your time here Trix.

I am glad the front office is choosing to let go of old vets if the price isn't right.
He wasn't very good last year and hopefully the FO chose to part with him at the right time.

The Mavs will be pretty damn good this season as well, did he even consider returning? I mean i guess he has an easier path in the East, but he has seemed dead-set on cleveland ever since lebron got there.

Trix's exit from the Mavs was pretty much sealed when they signed Parsons and Aminu.
They don't have any rosters spots right now, in fact, I think they have too many guys and they're going to end up cutting one of the guys on a non-guaranteed contract.

Got no problem with it. Mavs showed they didnt want him. He is an older player, and has been fading for several years now. Happy he can compete for a another title. That Cle team is very versatile. Do need another C tho. Sounds like Dallas. As is always quoted, better a year too soon that a year too late.

He should have stayed with Dallas.

Good for Shawn, as he deserves to contend... Wish he had signed back with Dallas for another year or 2. Oh well. It would be awesome to meet again in the Finals. He will no doubt get a standing ovation when he comes back into town

Quite the deal for the money.

Cant blame him, whats left besides title chasing?

Would be nice if he would of stayed in town for that minimum deal, but best of luck to him.

Thanks for the memories and title Matrix!

Well the Mavs had other ideas so I hope the Cavs do well because I always liked Marion.

Defensively the Cavs got better and the Mavs took a step back.

Who watched Dallas last season knows that Marion was bad. No regret at all, and I don't care where he signs, he's an FA and a grown man.

I have no issues with Marion going to Cleveland, since the Mavs managed to get younger in the process and that's a good thing.

The only offseason move I'm mad at is not resigning Carter.

Don't blame Marion one bit. Cleveland really wanted him and they courted him. They talked about how they have plans for him not just being LeBron's backup, but actually having him, Lebron, and Love all on the court at the same time.

Anyhow, he was a key player in our best team ever. Good luck Trix unless you're playing Dallas

I was in favor of not retaining hi.
I like Marion, but I felt it was time for us to move on, and we did that early on.
I wish him the best in Cleveland.

I will miss his defense, but I will not miss watching him shoot.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
