That supergenius Top2 of all time carlisle sure wrecked that rookie Donovan guy, right? 3pg lineups all the way!

I disagree. Dirk will be starter for the rest of his career unless we make a miracle draft. Given the current cap room, we should fix all other starter positions first. We can squeeze much cap rooms to bring in any PF that can start over Dirk.

Sounds like Durant is Spurs-bound. His intention is very clear. And it is indeed much easier for the Spurs to do so. They can easily trade away Green and Diaw for free. Therefore, next season. There are essentially only 3 contending teams (Golden States Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and any team with Lebron James). If Durant heads to San Antonio, there is a very real possibility for Dirk to chase his ring elsewhere.

Looking at how the Spurs handle their business, we should realize the importance of developing young players, keeping all guys with discount and making all pieces appealing in trade market. We should not overpay anyone to build a serious contender. And we have to get two-way players in free agency or via trade. That creates an appealing scenario for the second star. And then, we go from here.

I don't understand how it "sounds like Durant is Spurs bound". That is very very unlikely to happen.

Rick Carlisle says the Mavericks must give Dirk Nowitzki "the ultimate respect" in free agency, regardless of Nowitzki indicating he has no intention of leaving Dallas. "Hey, we're not taking this thing for granted," Carlisle said on 103.3 FM ESPN in Dallas. "When you do that, that's when you can get in trouble. ... We've got to take every measure to make sure he understands how much he means to all of us."

I'd like to see Dirk demand a max contract if only to prevent the Mavs from offering Parsons or Howard the max. Dirk should see who Mavs want to sign before taking less money before offering to take a discounted salary. I'd rather see Dirk take care of his great great great grandchildren than give Parsons or Howard Max money.
