Pujols' Season Likely Over

Post#1 » by bigboy1234 » Thu Sep 20, 2007 8:54 am

ST.LOUIS -- Unless Albert Pujols sees drastic improvement in his strained left calf in the next few days, his season could be over.

"I can't make that decision right now, it will be up to the trainers. ... But as of right now, no [I don't think I could play]," Pujols said. "Anything's possible, I guess. If I feel like I can play, I'll play.

"It's pretty bad. When I was warming up [Tuesday], during my first sprint, I felt a pop and just couldn't go."

Bummer for Albert. But, better now than next season.

The guy really needs to rest up, he's been banged up for two years now but keeps playing every day.

No point in playing hurt this last week and a half. I'd like to see him get his 100 RBI and runs scored, but I admire him for saying those things don't really matter to him anyway, he just wants to win.

Meanwhile, Prince Albert plows on and gets his 100 RBI's and is hitting around .325. Despite the injuries and that bad early start, he is winding up with another really nice year.
