BJ Upton signs with Braves

Post#1 » by Optimus_Steel » Sun Dec 2, 2012 6:09 pm

Well I have to say I am not shocked. I have mixed feeling. I am sad to him go because I never felt like he reached his true potential. But I am not sad because of the same reason if that makes sense. He is one of the big reasons our offense has been bad, with his terrible eye for the balls and high strikeouts. Nothing would piss me off more than seeing him take really good pitches right down the middle and swing at pitches way out of the strike zone.

I didn't know this till right now. I hope he has a successful career wherever he is. He was my favorite Ray, so it's sad to see him go.

Losing the .248 hitting upton doesn't really hurt.

However, should be ever become a .280 hitter his loss will hurt.

Upton never was able to stay consistent, and of lot of it falls on his goofy left foot when he swings the bat.

His range in CF will be missed, although Jennings has plenty, but Jennings has a really weak arm too.

BJ fell off a cliff this year, and thank god we weren't stuck paying the price. I actually went to a Braves game this year while wearing a Longo jersey and got nothing but "you can take BJ back" comments the whole night, lol.

Yeah, don't know what happened to Upton this year at the plate.

His K rate went way way up, and just stunk it up all year.

Plus, I never quite liked his approach at the game.

Upton was and always will be one of my favorite Rays player. But it was because of his speed, defense, and occasional power.

He did struggle a little too much for my liking, but, I actually love his stance because of the awkward ankle movement.
