Is this the curse of the home run derby? Interesting that no one is mentioned this.

Before the Homerun derby Bautista had 32 home runs.. Since then I think he's had only 12..

The curse is that anybody who participates in the HR derby, if they have a bad second half of a season (or below average week to start the following season, in this case) it's because they drastically and permanently altered their swing for the HR derby. However, the dozens of players that stay the same or get better after participation in the HR derby are not affected by the curse, perhaps due to immunity but more likely steroids.
