It started a near-20-year trend of new ballparks designed to look well old... and beautiful. Its success encouraged over 20 new ballparks in less than 20 years. Most of them were designed in the same vein as Camden. The new Marlins ballpark, however, is unsightly. I hope it doesn't spell the end of the Camden trend.

My hope is for the Jays to design their new ballpark (decades from now) along the lines of Camden and not go in for the cheesy water-slides in centre field and "green energy" nonsense. Do it behind the scenes, in the out-of-sight infrastructure. Otherwise, I want to see bricks and green grass.

I agree completely. I want our new park to not be as "modern" (ugly) as some of these new ones.
