what a shameless performance put in front of young Alvarez. giving away any division games, let alone to the Orioles, will not help our playoff chances once we start constantly playing the Yankees in the second half.

Bautista is just not the same. He's fouling off good strikes more and more as if he can't catch up to them. Pitches that last year and the year before he would be mashing.

Bautista's always had these timing issues come up once every couple of times during the season.

In 2011 it was June and September where his number dropped off.
In 2010 it was April and June.

I wouldn't put too much stock into it right now. If this extends out over to late May, I'd be much more concerned.

Well the one positive of Bautista sucking again. I was totally right that this was a terrible contract..... ah I'm sure he will come around.

Small sample size and all but Lind is hitting .765 vs rightys was over .850 only 2 games ago, find him a lefty masher to platoon him with and it would be fine. They already have a bench space (Francisco) that can be replaced with little to no impact on the club. The offence is not the problem of this team, at least it should not be.

this is garbage buddy, you weren't totally right about anything. guy was a top 3 hitter in all of baseball last year which was the first year of his extension. now 3 weeks into this season, his contract is suddenly terrible? this comment is nearly sig worthy imo

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Was a joke, relax. I would need at least a year of bad Joey Bats before I started gloating...

People complaining about Bautista is so ridiculous. Where were you guys when he was leading the league in HR's for the past 2 years. I dont expect Bautista to hit 50 hr this year. As long as he gets to 35+ HR, has a batting average close to .300 or over and a good OBP im happy. His contract is one of the best if not the best contracts in MLB. Hes obviously been off with his timing but i expect him to pick it up. Bautista is a streaky player but when hes on he's amazing. I would start to worry about Bautista if by mid season he has 10 hr or less and a bad batting average.

I think Bautista wont accept defeat, he just seems like one of these guys. He still has the power, he still has that good eye at the plate. His defense is great. His timing just seems off right now. Pretty amazing that the jays are over .500 with our superstar not playing too well. I think its only a matter of time before Bautista breaks out.

As bad as Bautista is going right now (for him), he's still above the league average in wOBA (and 3rd on this team behind KJ and EE).

If anything, him sucking now makes the extension even more of a brilliant move.

Can you imagine had he played out his contract last year, what his salary would look like right now? :o

Is Farrell okay? IMO, Thames shouldn't even be batting 8th, he should either be 9th or not in the lineup at all.

I dont understand the lineups John Farrell is putting out. My lineup would look something like this

1.Kelly Johnson
2.Lawrie
3.Bautista
4.Encarnacion
5.Escobar
6.Rasmus
7.Lind
8.Thames
9.Arencibia

I didnt take in account the lefty and righties but i think thats a good lineup out to put out there. Because that lineup 1-6 can be very dangerous.

1. Yunel Escobar
2. Kelly Johnson
3. Jose Bautista
4. Edwin Encarnacion
5. Colby Rasmus
6. Brett Lawrie
7. Adam Lind
8. Eric Thames
9. JP Arencibia

This would be the lineup I'd like to see. I'd put Lawrie 5th, but he seems to like left-right.

Do you guys look at the numbers ever? Thames is not our 2nd worst hitter by any stretch of imagination.

Lind, JPA, Thames, they are all bad. Thames isn't even facing lefties much.

Any bets on when Escobars next at bat that doesn't end in a groundball out will be?
