goins optioned to buffalo, presumably to make room for either an extra arm in the pen after today's game or adam lind

See ya later goins. I've been more than happy with what Kawasaki has been doing and with Lind and Reimold around i suspect fat Juan will be stapled to the bench save for the odd pinch hit against a guy with no breaking stuff.

I heard on the radio broadcast Lind had a set back. Is that wrong?

If Goins is sent down, then chances are Fat Juan is still going to start at 1B with Valencia getting the AB's at 3B until Edwin gets back. When Edwin and Lind are both back (hopefully some time this decade), then they will split 1B/DH as usual, and then we will see Fatness at 3B platooning with Valencia and Kawasaki platooning with Tolleson at 2B, which was likely the scenario they had in mind when they made the trade with the Royals.

A half game separates these two teams, so needless to say it's a big series.

This is going to be a huge series for Wild Card implications. Jays need to come out swinging and somehow for the life of them rattle King Felix.

Hoping Lind is back and we can play Kawa at 3B with no more Fat Juan in the lineup.

Best news I've heard all day. Gose needs to be next when Edwin/Lind return.

First EE and now Lind with a setback? C'mon!!!

I get we need them back ASAP, but the rushing doesn't seem to help.

Is this a second Lind setback in as many days or are you reacting to the back issue he had before returning to the lineup in GCL yesterday?

Brad Mills :(. Not much choice though for a temp help guy... Nolin is better but they obviously want to keep him starting.

“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I'm surprised they didn't send Jenkins down. They can't/won't use him for 4-5 days anyway.

Gotta make hay while the Yankees and O's beat up on one another. Too bad they both can't get swept. Need to overtake the M's here.

The crowd dynamics at Safeco should be interesting because this is the first time I can remember both teams actually fighting for a playoff spot.

Should be more Jays fans and Mariners fans. Fights!

I do not know how everyone else feels, but i hope the Jays decline Lind's 7.5 M option for next year. You can always count on this guy to be on the DL each year for an indefinite time. Along with Lind, i would trade Lawrie as well. Say goodbye to these two L's, and go get another starting third baseman and DH/1st baseman in the off-season.
