This is like the opposite of watching the raptors play.
That's what happens when you actually have elite talent on a team.
Looking forward to the cold winter months with people insisting how lowry, derozan, val and organic growth can turn into a contender.
**** that franchise is such a joke.
It's very hard and very rare to collect elite talent like this and put them on one team in any sport. You have no choice but to hope for the best when your team isn't stacked with the best modern players of their positions. It's not like AA did this out of thin air either and didn't have a bunch of setbacks along the way. After the Marlins trade blew up in our faces and the Dickey trade didn't (and still doesn't) look so hot, AA looked like he was spinning his wheels. It isn't like luck and some massive gambles didn't happen on the way to the current team. Who knew Jose and EE would blow up into two of the best hitters in the game. We still don't know how this window of contention will turn out in the end either; if we flame out of the playoffs in terrible fashion we could be staring at a much more bare cupboard next year. And let's face it: nobody is saying it, but it's pretty much WS champs or bust with the way the hype in Toronto is going right now. That's a lot of pressure to live up to.
The Jays right now so far are a perfect storm of various elements. We shouldn't take this for granted nor think collecting elite talent is as easy as AA made it look this year.
