So if I read Callis correctly (and after my rant:):
1.) It was a lousy draft for college position players and pitchers.
2.) The Jays pretty much picked who they should have picked at the spots they did
3) They probably already had a deal with their first round pick before they picked him
4.) They got a dud in Cal Biggio (thinks he 's just a an OBP specialist) but maybe some upside to Jackson as a "closer".
I enjoyed this interview a lot due to the vast knowledge of the prospects Callis has. Sounds like did their job decently.
I still don't like the "safeness" of the picks but it's clear that the options were a lot more limited than I knew--and that the Jays tried to take a few guys with some early medical issues but who sort of came on later(so there was more risk too.)
Hopefully a few turn into something decent.

Will be kinda fun in a few weeks, once the signing bonuses are known, to put together an AA-style kiddie-heavy shadow draft and see how they compare in a few years down the road.
