Berrios looks horrific again. He's leaving his slider up and his pitches have nothing on them.

Took Berrios 20 pitches to get one out

Another series at the Trop heading for disaster. Hope the Mariners and Orioles lose some games the rest of this week.

Also, no way Berrios is starting any wild card playoff game.

Standard-issue Berrios start: utterly disastrous, and yet we aren't losing.

Berrios should start every game, throwing exactly one pitch (a pitchout) before getting yanked. We'd be untouchable.

I'm gonna regret this probably, but Kikuchi would be better than what Berrios is throwing up there right now. They're on every pitch he's throwing.

at least kikuchi doesnt pitch this bad on purpose. he has flaws that he cant fix. berrios to me doesnt care. he has his money and just wants ks every AB.

Buck and Pat are talking about Berrios needing to get quick innings. I think he's got bigger things to worry about, like throwing strikes and not getting absolutely destroyed by every batter in the lineup.

If he didn’t care, that would be a lot better than completely losing his stuff in one year (which is what’s happened).

Can we pull this guy before we have no chance at all?

Yeah, I'm sure Berrios cares very much. He just can't get the ball past people...contra the idea that he's trying to strike people out too much, the issue is that his K rate has utterly cratered. It would be very good if he could actually strike people out again. As it is, he's basically the 2022 version of Josh Towers: very good walk rate, bad K rate, gets consistently crushed when around the zone.

Berrios hasn't been great tonight to be certain but all this reinforces to me is how if there's one team we don't want to face, it's these guys. Tough at bat after tough at bat.

Game going exactly as one would expect at the trop.

**** Tampa, but Berrios makes any scrub roster look like world beaters.
