Legacy game for Chris Bassitt (so I don't have to read awful Jays tweets).

He mashes lefties and not much else, and we're facing three LHSP...seems like the right time to call him up.

What if bassitt has a better start (which is likely) will jansen still be his catcher?

Who knows. Bassitt (like a lot of pitchers since the advent of Pitchcom) calls his own game, so theoretically the catcher shouldn't matter too much in that regard.

Hope the jays can remove the sour taste of that raptors game.

One of the best LHRP over the past three years actually. ERA+ of 166 from 2020-2022, but a much different pitcher than he once was...more contact, less walks and Ks.

OK. You were a catcher (are?). Anyway, I'm queasy with pitchers calling their own games. I understand it makes sense in a sort of fundamental way, but it's such a huge paradigm shift. I think I want my hurler operating like a robot. Getting and following instructions. The less thinking on the mound the better. Thoughts?

Buffalo Bisons/Jays legend Ryan Tepara also is in the Angel's bullpen. My favorite baseball stories are guys that stick around by changing their game.

So KK still hits in this lineup with Luplow?? Weird. Could have Varsho's lefty bat in there instead of KK or have Jansen sticking in the DH spot.

At the level I played, the pitch-calling was generally "throw the ball in the general direction of the plate". In the rare instances they had multiple pitches, it was "I dunno, which one do you have the best chance of throwing in the generation direction of the plate?"
