According to Jon Heyman on Twitter, Nats in agreement with Edwin Jackson. Looks like it's just a 1 year deal. John Lannan is also on the trade block.

The rotation is stacked guys. 1. Strasburg 2. Gonzalez 3. Zimmermann 4. Jackson 5. Wang/Lannan/Detwiler

Although I continue to worry about Boras' influence, and I see/saw no reason for this move, it's hard to at all be upset about a one-year deal when the team can afford it easily.

If indeed they can trade Lannan, so be it, but he's well-liked around here.

Simple. Strasburg is on an innings limit, Zimmermann is still rounding into form. Wang could get hurt getting out of bed. As Rizzo said, there's an innings shortage. We've now got a 7 man rotation, and injuries happen.

Now if they could just get a center fielder/lead off man.

Not much news to report, players are slowly trickling into camp. I guess the biggest news is that it seems as though the Nats are working on an extension for Ryan Zimmermann.

Zimmermann signs an extension, 6 years/$100 million with a full no trade clause. It's tacked onto his current contract so really its an 8 year/$126 million contract.

Seems like Werth has had a solid spring so far. Unfortunately, Storen and Morse may begin the season on the DL. Luckily the Nats have a deep bullpen, Clippard/H-Rod or Lidge could take over closer duties while Storen gets back to form.

LaRoche has also been hobbled by a bad ankle, that guy is made of glass.

Yeah, they're really beat up...Ankiel to start on the DL as well.

Nats can get by without Storen, but the bats? Supposedly Morse will be back at worst by the first homestand at least.

Biggest surprise for me was Lannan being sent down to AAA. That was a bit of a shock considering he's making $5 million this year.

The FO is extremely high on Detwiler.
