2012 Offseason: Nats trade for Span

Post#1 » by Rafael122 » Thu Nov 29, 2012 9:46 pm

11/29/12: Traded Alex Meyer for Denard Span who is under contract for 2 years with a club option. Another top 10 prospect traded by Rizzo. I really hope Ray and Solis bounce back this year, there aren't many arms left in the farm system.

I really think this might be the end of the road for LaRoche. Werth and Harper take up the other two outfield spots, leaving Morse/Moore/LaRoche as the first base options. Adam is probably gone, they move Morse to first and Moore is his backup.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Nats sign Dan Haren to a 1 year, $13 million deal. Risky signing as Haren showed diminished velocity last season and had been plagued by a bad hip or back, not sure it's which. But they have their 5th starter.

Nats re-signed Adam LaRoche to a 2 yr/$24 million deal with an option for 2015 I believe, if I read that correctly. And they just signed Rafael Soriano for 2 yrs/$28 million. WOW.

1/16/2013: Trade Michael Morse to the Mariners in a 3 team trade that nets the Nats AJ Cole. Cole was originally traded to Oakland in the Gio trade.
