Road game against a time with an active PG and a rim protector - not a good prospect for the Nuggets. They also have eight players shooting 38% or better. We've done well at 3pt defense, but this game might be a test.

Jameer has to go. Twice in a row he totally ignores Murray open in the corner. Homecoming game so he's gotta jack those shots up.

Murray is lighting it up, 17pts at the half.

Murray needs to start taking Mudiay's minutes

Nelson must THINK he's clutch, another ill-advised 3 with under a minute to go.....

I think we're going to have to live with Nelson, Mudiay is falling out of favor and Murray has yet to secure PG minutes.

Murray goes for 17 in the first half and only 5 in the second. I wish he got more of a chance at the end, all vets down the stretch

I've noticed that from Gallinari as well but I suspect it isn't a prejudice against the rookie but that they just aren't used to having a legit threat who runs to the corners.

I understand Mudiay is young but Malone doesn't play other young players and Hernangomez for sure has better stats and maybe Beasley (too small a sampling though).

Murray was set to come in and Barton got hot so Murray sat down. I get that. It makes sense. What doesn't make sense is that Murray had a major hot streak in the first half and barely played in the second half. He scored one point per minute for the game! :banghead:

I am tired of hearing the Nuggets called "a young team". I am tired of hearing that used as an excuse. Look at the stats; the top six players in minutes per game are:

36 Gallinari
31 Mudiay - only young player and frankly not playing well - no other player has major minutes with his stats
31 Chandler
29 Barton
26 Nelson
24 Faried

Those are the players that close out most games and tonight Arthur was playing at the finish. Those are NOT young players!

The real issue with this team is that it's actually 2 different teams. A vet team vying for a playoff spot: Nelson/Chandler/Gallo/Arthur/Faried, and a rebuilding team with young players needing to develop: Mudiay/Murray/Beasley/Juancho/Jokic/Nurkic.

I feel like Malone is set on playing the first team (and why wouldn't he be? Those guys give him the best chance to win and keep his job) and the FO/ownership is torn between being patient with the young guys and trying to end our playoff drought to bring some fans back.

The best thing to do now is commit to one of those teams. Either consolidate young guys for a star or trade off the vets for complimentary young guys/picks.

The current state of the Denver Nuggets, to which "Be Patient" is the response given over and over again....
