Could you make contact with major league pitching?

title.

I can say that I have no shot at making contact with major league pitching. I wouldn't be close.

Could you make contact with major league pitching?

If it's Aroldis Chapman hurling 105mph fastballs at me, absolutely not.

If it's CC Sabathia, on a good day, I'd go 3-4 with two homers and 4 RBI.

I think i could hit a Tim Wakefield fast ball when he pitched. I mean think about it his fastball only reached anywhere from 70-75 mph and i saw that speed in High School ball. I feel like i could hit it at least once if you gave me 10 swings

If I did it would probably be purely due to luck.

Depends on who it is. If it's Aroldys Chapman's 100 mph heat then id just close my eyes, swing away, and hope for the best.

Anything 90 and up I highly doubt unless pretty lucky, the ball comes on you so quickly it's pretty unreal.

If they are actually pitching like they would to an mlb batter, inside, outside, change of speeds etc I think it would be almost impossible to make clean contact. Now if it's just come right at me with 96 mph pitches in the zone I think I could hit a few in fair territory. By a few I mean 3 out of 100.

I would look like a fool. I'm used to hitting 50 mph pitches with my friends. If I have an MLB pitcher throw a 95 mph fastball with movement, I wouldn't even be able to see the ball.

I've had success in a batting cage with pitches around 50mph. However, against a major league pitcher I probably wouldn't stand a chance. I'd be lucky to foul a pitch.

I've heard the hardest thing to do in all of sports is to hit a major league fastball

Simply put, the average person would have no chance of making contact and in many cases would be too scared to step into the box

If I was in better shape physically (stronger so the bat feels lighter) and had a few weeks to prepare, I think I could make contact

I'm not sure that contact would end up in the 2nd deck, but I'd put the bat on the ball a few times against a below average pitcher

Yep, that's why in the MLB, if you hit the ball 30% of the time, you are a damn good hitter.

In all other sports stats I know, having 30% success is pretty terrible.
