Better you guys than that other LA team. Or the Yankees.

Wow thats a bargain for Trout. He'd get $250+ Mil easily in FA and would be totally worth it.

Nats played the longest game in franchise history last night, 16 innings. Managed to pull out a win. Pitching has rounded into form, have to say we have to best pitching in the league right now top to bottom.

Already got a series win against the Brewers in Milwaukee, and took 3/4 from the Giants in San Fran. If we make the playoffs, and can just avoid the Braves and Cards, we'd definitely win the pennant.

Take that Phillies!

I can't believe we got a four game sweep as up and down as our team plays.

Who's better 1-5? Dodgers have Kershaw and Greinke, but I'd take our 3-5 and bullpen(which is still #1 in the league in ERA).

Reg. point #2, that's just based on the fact that we can't beat those two teams. This year we're 2-5 against the Cards and 3-7 against the Braves. Meanwhile we 3/4 from the Giants in SF, 2/3 from the Brewers in Milwaukee, and 2/3 from the Dodgers, with one of those wins against Grienke.

Anyways, Harpsgod finally returns tonight. We will have our healthy starting lineup for the first time since Opening Day. Hopefully we can go on a run, because Atlanta isn't going away.

yea....our 1 and 2 outclass your 1 and 2.

your 3-5 does not outclass our 3-5. It's truly a toss up. If we're keeping it REALLY real. Who from your 3-5 is actually outpitching Josh Beckett this year?

I'll give you the bullpen. We've been (_l_) cheeks so far through the year. We lost Withrow. Wilson dealt with an injury and Kenley was just unlike himself to start the year (posting a WHIP nearly double his career average). He looks like he's back now.
By the end of the year, our pen will be tops in the league between League (who has been awesome this year), Howell, Wilson and Jansen....so I'll just take the same wiggle room you took with your starting 5 and say that i'll take my guys (i trust them).

we have a 3 game set in September though. I think that will be a much better indicator of where we are instead of our 3 game set in May where injuries were running rampant. It benefits me to say this...but I wouldnt judge EITHER of our teams off May performances.

I hope the Braves make a move for a starting pitcher.

Wow the As traded away their best prospects for a starting pitcher? Who took over Billy's body and made that trade?

I'm SO pissed that Beane traded Addison Russell. A's haven't had an elite positional prospect in forever and he traded him for non-elite starting pitching.

Cubs might've made out like bandits. Hammel's a free agent at the end of the year, and Samardzija wasn't gonna re-sign with them anyway. They manage to get the number 5 overall prospect in Russell, and the A's last two first rounders. Cubs have a lot of nice infield prospects

This just means it will take the whole farm to get Price from the Rays.

Of a good farm***

so are the a's the favorites for winning it all now? they probably have to watch out for samardzija falling apart in the second half (its happened before - and he's been off since his red-hot start this year)

Theo's method for rebuild:

Stockpile arms? Nope. Stockpile shortstops

could work tbh.

they were favorites before the trade, this could only improve their chances.
