glad we probably had something to do with running the price up on this guy.

21 million + for an unproven commodity that's a 2 pitch pitcher.
thought i wanted. do not want.
but the Yankees needed this....so I can't knock them.

Please don't turn out like Kei Igawa.

Til he proves that, I want a gun held to Brian Cashman's head at all times.

Granted he doesn't have the velocity or movement that Darvish has, he's shown great command with a diverse repertoire including a mid 90s 4-seamer, splitter (fork), sinker, slider, and the occasional curve and changeup.

Disappointed the Angels couldn't get him, but that is alot of money per year for an international free agent.

The Yankees have spent almost $500 Mil this off-season.

The Yankees spending money. I'm shocked.

that's stuff that worked in Japan.

his plus pitches coming this way or fast ball and splitter.

His slider has also been considered a plus pitch. He's also been throwing a 2-seamer more than his 4 and along with those other pitches I named, he's also throwing in a cutter as well.

It's the Yankees. They are the only team(maybe the Dodgers as well) that can spend this kind of money and continue to spend if it doesn't work out. Of course it is a lot of money but it's not like Tanaka was making peanuts in Japan. He was getting paid millions and we know that he came here for even more money. He definitely carries risk like any other free agent or player that hasn't played in the majors but teams were banking on his upside with their bids.

Yanks really overpayed for Tanaka. Yeah he played in China and had a 24-0 Recors and i doubt he repeats that. He has many tough batters to face. Yanks probably made this move to shoe eeryone that hes gonna be the next Yu Darvish. Shouldve gave David Price an offer beforr Tanaka

Takes a bit more than a few starts to prove anything, but it sure is a great start.
