Looks like Saquon’s deal is actually a 5 year contract however the last two seasons are voided. So the Eagles can always lower his cap him by giving him a signing bonus and pushing that cap hit to one of the voided years. His cap hit is less than $4M this season however next season he has a $13.5M cap hit ($21M Dead Cap). In 2025 his cap hit goes up to $15.5M but his dead cap drops to $8.4M.

Cowboys won't be a factor in the NFC this season.
They'll probably still win 10 or 11 games. Too much talent. But they're likely a wildcard team at this point. The Eagles look like the best team on paper.
With a 1st place schedule I’m expecting 8-9 wins max.

See I just feel like if things really go wrong, they will just eat that 8.4mill in 2026 essentially making it a 2/24mill contract. And I think you gotta take a shot, if it doesn’t work out oh well, it’s not gonna cripple them too much going forward

As long as Dak is healthy, they should win at least 10 games. They need to fortify their offensive line. But they'll probably draft an OT or bring back Tyron on a cheaper deal. Offensively, they should be more than fine.
They need to fix the personnel on defense. Not having depth at LB was their Achilles.
I agree about the schedule. It will make things more difficult for them. Which is why I don't think they'll win 12 games again.

The deal is not “actually” a 5 year contract
Contracts are essentially where the guarantees lie. They’ll either let him walk or restructure in the 3rd year
This contract is most definitely a 2 year structure.
The risk is the 2nd year, after that I don’t really expect him on the roster. Likely he never plays for the eagles in the 3rd year

There will be 2 cap increases between now and then too so yea $8.4M wouldn’t be hard to manage.

According to Sportrac it’s a 5 year deal with the last two years being voided. It’s basically the same kind of contract as Dak’s. He’ll never play year 4 or 5 of the contract because they are voided but the Eagles can push Saquon’s cap hit to one of this two years. Also yes, if they want to resign him they would have to do it in year 2 or 3 of the contract.

When is Arch Manning eligible for the draft?

Next year's draft is terrible if you want a QB. I mean we're talking like Kenny Pickett, Desmond Ridder, Malik Willis type of draft.
Deion's son is projected as the top QB.
Arch isn't eligible till 2026.

We have all kinds of time to look at QB's the next year and a half. Lets just get Dak's contract off the books and show him the door. However, If Dak would waive his no trade clause I would trade him before on draft night. Even in a trade I believe we still have to come for this year's salary, but at least we could get something in return.

There you go. That’s Jerry’s new HC and QB. Deion Sanders as HC and his son as the new starting QB.

Devin white might not be the best player the eagles signed, but he might be the most impactful. Linebacker was a big weakness, he should help a ton.

Jerry's biggest collective bargaining concern. Does bail money count against the salary cap?
