So I don't normally post on the NFL board so forgive me if this has been discussed before.
Does it bother anyone else that nobody has brought up he face that this is a straight up drug reference?
Don't get me wrong weed and oil and all that isn't exactly hardcore drugs, but regardless this dance it 100% about using drugs. I am shocked that we have got all the way through the season and everyone has just looked the other way.
If someone scored a TD and did a dance that referenced doing a line of coke, or smoking a blunt im sure they would be suspended and fined. How is this different? All this coming from the MVP of all people.
Thoughts?

Pretty sure it is just a stupid dance.
I've done my fair share of the "dabs" you are referring to, and I don't see any connection.
And even if you are correct, who cares?

The NFL. A lot. They don't like fun and they don't like their players linked to drugs.

You are 100% correct. I should have worded that "they don't like the APPEARANCE of their players linked to drugs."

It has nothing to do with taking a hit from a bong. The arm motion is someone coughing after they take a dab hit.

6 of 1 half a dozen of the other.
It's about smoking weed no matter how you slice it.
I haven't smoked since my 20s so I don't care anymore. The funny thing is I live in Oregon where it's glorified

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/207222/cam-newton-keeping-replacement-for-the-dab-a-big-secret
FORT MILL, S.C. – If Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has picked a replacement for the “dab," he’s not telling anyone.
The reigning NFL MVP hasn’t told his younger brother, Caylin, who last season suggested adding the Atlanta-based “dab" to Newton’s “Superman" routine of celebrating touchdowns.
He hasn’t told his father, Cecil Newton Sr., who admittedly lacks the rhythm to be involved in the decision.
He definitely hasn’t told reporters, saying only he has “until September to find out." The Panthers open the 2016 season on Sept. 8 against the Denver Broncos in a rematch of Super Bowl 50.
“It don’t matter what I say, he’s going do something spectacular," Caylin said last Friday as he participated for Grady High School in Atlanta during Newton’s 7-on-7 football tournament in Charlotte.
Newton first announced in early June on WFNZ-AM radio that he was retiring the “dab," which he debuted in an Oct. 18 win at Seattle. It became a national phenomenon after the mother of a 9-year-old attending Carolina’s win at Tennessee wrote a letter complaining about it.
Newton reiterated the death of the “dab" last week before the ESPYs in Los Angeles.
“No need to talk about what’s dead," Newton said.
