3 Team Trade: Detroit- New Orleans - Sacramento

Postby Piston Prince on Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:49 am

Detroit gets: Emeka Okafor, Francisco Garcia, #5 & # 10 picks

Sacramento gets: Prince, Jerebko, #9 pick

New Orleans gets: Daye, Bynum, #39 & #44 picks

New Orleans gets out of Okafor's contract and saves significant money. Sacramento drops down 4 spots and trades a guy they don't need for two quality rotation players.

Pistons screw their cap room until 2014, but could add Drummond and Henson.

Knight, Stuckey, Monroe, Henson and Drummond are a very nice young core to build around. Add in another high pick in 2013 and we will have cap room to be able to add a player like Rudy Gay in the summer of 2014. We could enter the 2014-2015 season as a very talented 7-8 deep team with a very bright future.

I'm hoping saving $30 mil on Okafor would appeal to the Hornets new owners.

Hornets can get better than Daye/Bynum and two second rounders. Pistons would have to add the 9th pick to the Hornets for them to even consider it.

Lakers stole Shaq, so Magic gave them Dwight!

I thought the Magic fired Otis!

Just change their name to the LA Sterns!

The idea for them is to give up the pick to shed salary. They shouldn't expect to get talent back.

I would do it. I'm hesitant to trading Jerebko since I like him a lot but I think it's worth it. I think Sac would do it. It really depends on NOH.

If NO did the deal they could have enough cap room to resign Eric Gordon and throw a big offer at JaVale McGee, Roy Hibbert or Brook Lopez to pair in the frontcourt with Davis.

Jack/Vazquez
Gordon
Ariza/Aminu
Davis/Smith
FA C/Ayon

That group should be competing for the West playoffs depending on Gordon's health and Davis's ability to make an early impact.

Solid Point. Hibbert or McGee would be nice.

Or they could look to deal Ariza for a TPE....as Okafor is a big body to put next to Davis.

They could then re-sign Goardon and throw big money at guys like Dragic and/or Jeff Green

I'd personally keep the 9 pick and just send the 10 to New Orleans. Basically the same deal. I Also think Charlie Villanueva is amneistied at this point.

Yeah, slam dunk for us (absolutely no reason not to do this deal), and about right for SAC, too. I'm just afraid someone can offer NO more for absorbing Okafor (like BOS, who could send 20 & 21 for Okafor & 10).

If it happened, though, why on earth draft both Drummond and Henson? We'd be getting back Okafor, and losing both Tay and JJ; why load up on four big men when we'd have no wing players left? With #5, we'd have a really good shot at TRob, MKG or Barnes (just so long as someone in the top 5 took Beal). I'd spend both picks on forwards; best available at #5, and then whomever would best compliment that player and Monroe at #10 (TRob & PJ3? Barnes & Henson/Sullinger?).

Can't we get NO to throw in their #1 for this year? :-)
