I see Andre putting up 16 points/13.5 boards/2blks/1.5 steals with improved defense.

Does it matter?
I'd rather the team have a top 5 or 10 offense & defense.
Individual stats are irrelevant

Not to me. Only stat that really matters is how many wins you can get out of 82, and who can be the first team to win 16 games in the playoffs.

Re: Predict drummond stats for next season
Its impossible to say without knowing how many shots he's going to get, how many minutes, what the frontcourt will look like around him, what the system will be, etc
I've long felt in a 2009 Orlando type system, playing 39-40 mpg, he could avg close to 20 & 20. Ironically, we might actually get to see that happen now with SVG here. However its still unknown what system/roster we will have, so its too early to predict.
If they keep Monroe and Smith, that means not only will Drummond not have the whole paint to himself to get every rebound and every post-up/pick&roll opportunity like he would in an ORL type system, but he would also probably only get 32 mpg having to share time with Monrore and Smith.
So basically I think his numbers are all dependant on the number of bigs we keep around him. If we want to make him into a bonafide superstar avg 25-15, I think we could do it by clearing out the frontcourt, making him the main man inside and surrounding him with shooters at every position.
If we keep the same setup though, he probably only puts up the same numbers as last year. There's just only so many minutes and shots to go around when you have 3 prominant bigs who all need minutes and shots.
That's one of the big reasons why I want Monroe traded. As long as Monroe is here Drummond will be relegated to the garbage man role, and he has potential to be so much more than that, its stunting his growth by having another ball dominant big man next to him.
Its easier to tell Smith to just focus on shotblocking, defense, hustle plays, occasional post-ups as the secondary option and passing out of those post-ups, etc, because he's capable of doing those things and most don't require him possessing the ball. With Monroe however, scoring and passing out of the post is pretty much all he can do. So if you tell him to just do those things in a complimentary role to Drummond, then you're just not getting full value out of him and its not worth the money to keep him. If you let him do those things in a bigger role, then you're just not getting full value out of Drummond and stunting his development. So ideally the best big next to Drummond is a defensive, energy, hustle guy who can block some shots and make 3's. Smith can at least fill three of those four criteria for the time being until we can get someone to do all of them. And honestly, we might have that guy already in Harrelson.

Shall we create a thread asking what everyone would rather see? Andre Drummond posting gaudy statistics or actually seeing some winning basketball in Detroit? Unless you know something, I think we all know how the results would pan out.

Sounds about right for those numbers. I'd like to see Drummond be 1st or 2nd on the team in FGAs next season though and play like 38-39 mpg.
14-15 FGAs would be ideal for me.

Sky's the limit. Coaching did nothing to help him and he still raised his numbers in just about every category. Unbelievable.

You guys got some GOAT expectations for him. I don't see how his rebounding increases. If he's going to be getting more touches, that's going to take a toll on his rebounding aggressiveness.

A lot of his rebounds are offensive, some are put-backs from his own misses or from others. Some might call it stat padding, but I just call that Drummond being a unique talent. He crashes the offensive glass like none other, further compounded by his soft touch around the rim.
I believe Drummond is the only starting center that would be projected to average 20 points and 20 rebounds per 100 possessions last season. His offensive rebounding numbers are just ridiculously higher than anyone else in the league. I can only imagine he'd have even more defensive boards per game if Detroit actually made teams miss shots.
It's safe to bet that Drummond would average anywhere between 15-20 rebounds per game, and it's all dependent on how well Detroit's defense actually becomes.

if he gets that many FGA and ups his FT%, i'd like to think he'd average closer to 20 PPG, but this sounds pretty accurate.

Re: Predict drummond stats for next season
All I care about this season is that Drummond gives everything he has defensively and tries to become a true anchor.
I love Dre as much as the next person, but he was flat out bad defensively, it can be blamed alot on Jennings and Smith but Drummond really needs to step up this year.

Flat out bad? Seriously?
