The Pistons are definitely not set at PF if Monroe skates.

Well just like Monroe/Smith where we would love to see the better player (Monroe) replace the dip stick once & for all, we would be in a similar place with Bledsoe (the better player) & Jennings.
What I would love to do is keep Monroe, somehow ship out the 2 idiots & sign Bledsoe next Summer if he shows he can have a healthy year.
That's how you make a team better quickly.
So you're saying Monroe/Jennings is better than Smith/Bledsoe as a PF/PG combination, because that seems fairly outrageous to me.
Nope, I said your idea of Bledsoe replacing Jennings is the same idea we have all wanted in Monroe replacing Smith. Smith nor Jennings are going anywhere anytime soon it sadly appears. Even if we traded Monroe for Bledsoe we wouldnt see that PG/PF combo you referenced.
& really add Bledsoe for Monroe all we would like. As long as Smith & Jennings are here we are what we are.

I'm confused. If we traded Monroe for Bledsoe why wouldn't we see the combo I referenced?

Jennings.
Same scenario as Monroe/Smith

Take into consideration how much the cap is going to rise and we're disagreeing about peanuts for a guy that could help the team tremendously.

Ok, but cap space won't help us resign Drummond when he wants out because this team sucked his first 4 seasons, and he wants to leave to a contender. The worst thing we could do is scare away our only hope, and if Bledsoe comes in, and is injured most of the next two seasons, that's a good possibility.

So why should we go after Bledsoe, if Augustine is capable of running the point well enough to get the team to the playoffs? If DJ can be serviceable, let's put that money into a player that's more reliable at another position.
His injuries, and the fact that Phoenix doesn't want him, make me very, very hesitant to put any sort of trust in a player like that. Phoenix is one of the best teams in the league for broken down players, and they were quick to sign IT, and draft Ennis. That tells me something. I love our training staff, but I think we're a tier below what Phoenix has going on.

We have no use for Jackson but even if we did I think he's severely overrated and about to get severely overpaid, a guy Dumars would try to lock up. We have no idea if McGary can even play in the NBA so to call him better than Monroe is crazy talk though his skill set would be a nice fit ASSUMING he can even play.
I just see stuff before most peeps bc I is smart :p
Don't make me bring up Royce White again

So did Amare. And Brandon Roy.
Look, give me a player that doesn't show injury problems, and I might disagree with your idea, but I won't say it doesn't have reason behind it, or that it won't work. But with that kind of cash tied up in a question mark, I'm uncomfortable at best.
In my opinion this team doesn't have the depth to withstand an injury to what you're billing would be their best all around player right now. I've always been of the opinion that you prepare for the worst, but hope for the best. Unfortunately, teams don't perform well on hopes and dreams. Or fortunately, if you think about how tough the competition at the top would be in that scenario.

That's the biggest red flag in my opinion. Claim his injuries aren't that big of a deal or that he's a potential superstar. But if that's all true, explain why a team in need of a superstar would go this route with his RFA?

They changed their tune pretty quick from "Match any offer" from the beginning of the season to "Let's trade him now." Either they know something we don't or they truly don't want him back.

This could be a bit of MoneyBall happening as well. Getting a sufficient replacement for Bledsoe may not cost 12M+/yr, so Phoenix isn't going to budge. It isn't like the don't have a whole roster of PGs already.
