Too many guaranteed contracts is probably the only reason he was let go

Re: Orlando Magic to sign Peyton Siva
I liked him. More so because he seemed like a quality person, not so much for his on court talent. Unfortunately, he's really lacking in a few areas that are necessary in the NBA. Namely his lack of size and shooting ability. I wanted to see him succeed here to see the underdog come through. But it was always a long shot.
If the "Lol pistons" is because we let him go and you expect him to contribute to a lesser NBA team...The Magic signed him to a non-guaranteed deal that will likely send him to the D-league...we're not really losing out on anything
Sure I would have rather had a young guy instead of Bynum, but if we're comparing the two on talent and production, Bynum can contribute more on the court than Siva was going to be able to.

He's going to play in our new NBDL team but if we have an injury he could move up.

By all accounts, he was a good teammate and worked hard while he was here, so I wish him all the best. Hopefully a D league stint gives him some extra time to work on his jumper. It's pretty hard to be a pg in the NBA unless you've got some range.

I hope he has a long productive career. The kid is a steady hand, he could end up being one of the better backup ones in the future.
