Despite males' continued allegiance to beer, the percentage of men who say it is their favorite drink has declined significantly, down 11 points since the early 1990s, with roughly equal increases since then in the percentages of men preferring wine and liquor

Millennial (16-34) is quickly approaching the Boomer (46-64) age group in wine consumption. There has been a shift from beer to wine in recent years not just in women but also in men.Despite males' continued allegiance to beer, the percentage of men who say it is their favorite drink has declined significantly, down 11 points since the early 1990s, with roughly equal increases since then in the percentages of men preferring wine and liquor
Also, a shift in non-whites (34% of non-whites) drinking wine up 12% from 1994 to 2013.

It's interesting how many generalizations the older groups are making on the Millennial's for not being interested in the same things they were growing up.

Up 12% in 20 years isn't much especially when the number was so low to begin with. It's still rare.

How is 34% of non-whites rare?? That's about 13% of the U.S. population or 25 million people! And that number is including only the small subset of wine drinkers that Monroe falls in. It's much greater if including the number of white wine drinkers with non-whites. I think you need to stop using the word rare because you obviously don't know what it means.
