Awesome. Been watching some Charlotte games, and they will start losing.

It's a shame Miami won, but at least it puts Indiana further back in our rear view mirror.
At the end of the day, it's not about wins and losses. Teamwork, fair play, and good sportsmanship make champions of us all.

CLE is looking scary now, they have a healthy Lebron and an actual center. JR Smith is the wildcard and once Shump shakes off the rust, they'll be better a bit defensively.

Saturday, January 24th. One game behind Brooklyn for the eighth spot. Teams 6,8,9, and 10 playing tonight!

Pistons over Milwaukee (Pistons favored by two on the road, really?)
New York over Charlotte (prayer)
Utah over Brooklyn (even odds)

Random thought - is it still too late to trade Monroe for Klay Thompson?

He was quoting Animal House.

Might be time to tank though, I don't think that Augustine and Dinwiddie are going to replace what Jennings was giving us well enough to get into the playoffs. Time to force-feed Dre in the post again, perhaps? This draft is deep, we can still land some nice young piece.

Keep the Playoffs in sight and alive!
Keep in mind DJ played his best ball last year when he was forced into the starting line up due to Rose's injury..
Not going to give up hope quite yet, but this does hurt if he indeed is out for the year or any substantial time.

Sunday, January 25th, 1 1/2 games behind Charlotte for the eighth seed. Hollinger still has us as seventh seed, 52.5% chance of making playoffs. Time to circle the wagons!

Pistons over Toronto
Chicago over Miami
Orlando over Indiana (either is fine)
San Antonio over Milwaukee
Golden State over Boston

Random thoughts: To me, someone like Lin is a risk worth taking in exchange for a minor asset. If I understand correctly, his trade number is 8.5M. Something like JJ, Gigi, and a second rounder for someone who was at his best dominating the ball with the Knicks is worth a shot. Let's face it, there aren't great options, but this system at the moment needs ball dominating point guards. Jennings does it well, DJ sometimes, Lin has done it in the past. Nelson? Washed up. Nate Robinson? Ball hog.

For basically a second round pick, a two-headed monster of Lin and DJ is probably our best bet.

Hopefully the Jennings injury isn't as bad as we think. I just met him at an autograph signing the day after the 24 and 21 game. Hopefully he'll be able to come back.

Trading away minor assets now in order to take a chance on a point guard for the purpose of trying to squeak into the playoffs is absolute madness IMO.

Jennings' injury aside, it's not like the Pistons had a realistic shot at a championship this year. Obviously they vastly improved with the removal of Josh Smith, but they're clearly not on the level with the true championship contenders. Giving away a piece or pieces of what they've begun to build just to recover from the loss of a key player and make a run at the playoffs vs. dealing with the injury and only making moves that contribute long term makes zero sense to me.

Start DJ, call up Dinwiddie, and roll with it as best you can.

SVG does not tank. And we've won too many games to realistically put ourselves in the running for a top 3 pick now. Playoffs or bust...someone else needs to step up.

There is absolutely no rush to make a move right now.

See if Augustin steps up. The correct course of action is to see what we can do with what we have. If we really believe adding a secondary point guard will be the difference between making and missing the playoffs, we can do something by the trade deadline in a few weeks.

There is a need to do something soon. We really need 3 pgs. It doesn't mean we have to blow draft picks or future cap space, but if one DJ or Dinwiddie get in foul trouble or twist an ankle, it's going to look ugly really quick. I expect us to at least bring up a D-Leauger this next week.
