Another one of our top 3 targets is gone... Got to wonder what Stan's thinking now.

4 years $60 million seems like a bit much for him. Can't fault Stan here IMO.

Great move for the Raptors, other east times are getting better. 4/60 is a high price to pay though

That's a big contract! If Carroll can get that Tobias can get a max from somebody. Stan give him the max!!

Yeah that's a big contract! I don't think I would've signed him for that much. Raptors went all out for him.

I don't think Carroll is even that good. That's still the equivalent of 10 mill on the new scale for a guy entering his 30s. He's one of the highest paid players on the team. No way is he a #1 option.

I agree thats a lot of money. For Raptors is different because they are trying to contend now, we are just trying to make the playoffs.

Plus Atlanta traded for Tiago to make room for Millsap to go to Orlando. That leaves Harris to the Pistons.

The guy was the 5th starter on his team last year... playing with 4 all-stars.... its part of the reason he had the space to be a great 3 pt shooter... He's like Tayshaun Prince from 10 years ago... a great glue guy who helps the team win, but now he's getting paid like a #1 or #2 option which I think it a bit crazy. I was thinking the Pistons would have a legit chance at $44 to $48 million over 4 years.

It's not even the money on that contract that bothers me, it's the length. If Carroll's season was a flash in the pan last year, you're stuck with him for 4 long years.

Disappointing, but not surprising. We had few targets and there are 29 other teams in the league. It's more likely to end up with none.

2 things stand out:

1) We were never getting Green if the Spurs were able to offer a substantiative offer. He didn't want to leave that situation and only would have done so if he had to.

2) If that's what it took to get Carroll to Toronto, it would have taken even more to get him here.

So far I don't think SVG has lost out on anything that we could have gotten that would have been particularly desirable. Its disappointing that the situation has elapsed the way it has, but I'm not sure anything under our control could have changed it.
