Re: Reggie Jackson Resigns 5/80
After playing at UCONN at 280lb, Drummond lost 22 lbs to get down to 260 range to prepare for the draft and his quickness improved. SVG wants him to get leaner and hes been working towards that this offseason.

That says 295 in 2013. We really don't know what his weight is tho. My guess 270-280

True, we don't know his weight. All we know is that hes working on getting leaner. I do agree that Drummond is in the 270-280 range now but SVG wants him to get leaner than that, which is why I think he will come back in the fall closer to 260.

That's just false. Completely false.
All it takes is a quick look at Dre as a rookie in SL and at him in games last year.
No 6'10"-6'11" guy with a lower body like his is ever going to weigh 260 unless he's been in the hospital for six months.
exactly Right, its post like that, that get ppl frustrated. ITs simple research that can be done in less than 20 seconds. instead of just guessing to try to debate a point. I don't think dre's been 260 since his HS years

Not guessing at all, just got the date of his 22lb weight loss wrong, but plz continue.....
This article clearly states that Dre was 280 at UConn and lost 22lbs. I read it years ago. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/28/sports/basketball/andre-drummond-is-big-athletic-and-something-of-a-draft-day-gamble.html
This is from the New York TImes, not something I "guessed" at..... Your post is super ironic btw, you get to say nonsense like "I don't think Dres been 260 since highschool"- I post an actual article with a quote by Drummond and everything that backs me up and yet I'm the one who hasnt done research.....
My mistake for clicking to read your post in the first place

1.) NY TIMES!!!!! REALLY!?
2.) Its simple common knowledge that players all get ridiculously in shape prior to the draft. it doesn't mean they walk around at that weight.
3.) If you know anything about nutrition , you'd know athletes that drop that much weight in a short time period is extremely unhealthy and as soon as they stop whatever diet or training regime they are on. there weight sky rockets right back up. obviously Dre did. additionally where did the writer get 22 lbs? sounds like Q. Miller gaining 20lbs.
4.) When your reference is the NY times, you should know it won't be taken seriously. Maybe if you had one of our own writers articles i be more incline to believe you, but my guess is that all those contradict your point
5.) you don't bother with me, because i call you out on your BS and then you just stop interacting all of a sudden. If you want to believe Dre is 260lbs, that's your choice. I am just saying its blatantly wrong.

Johnson is 245 at 19.
That's a little perspective on just how massive, Stanley is.
Do you honestly believe Rasheed Wallace still weighed 230lbs 10 years into his playing career after being drafted at 230 at 20 years old? Those listed weights never change from when players are drafted.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. When Sheed was with the Pistons I think he weighed well over 230. It's pretty clear Drummond will never be a lightweight. I don't really care what Drummond weighs, just that he get in the best possible shape. There have been times when he was pretty gassed on the floor.

to be fair, its not like he was gassed from simply just running down and back. More times than not, he's been gassed from making plays on both ends. I'll give our center a couple minutes to breath if its from working his a* off. I do think his conditioning has gotten better over each year though

That's not happening. I think people make it seem so easy to lose and gain weight. The main reason why Dre is so dominant is because of his weight. If he goes anywhere under 270 lbs I'll be very disappointed. I expect him to stay around 280. It's perfect size for his trunk legs.

Andre in Summer League 2012

Andre last year in the NBA

Bigger arms, bigger legs, and a little trimmer, but muscle weighs more than fat. There is absolutely no chance he hasn't gained weight, let alone lost weight, since entering the league.
He could get bigger up top yet, certainly, and additional stamina would be nice. He needs to get into Dwight Howard shape.
(also, watching him shoot step-backs on Enes Kanter is hilarious)

Agreed, it's not as though he doesn't give good effort, or that he's ever been obviously out of shape. Yes, his conditioning has improved. It's encouraging to see reports that he's taking it more seriously, and progressing as a pro.

Stan said in an interview with Mannix(I think) that fear of Reggie signing the one year QO is what led him to getting the max 5 yr offer. I guess he's snakebit from playing hard ball with Monroe last season - not to mention Reggie already had turned down 4 yrs 48M, so playing for one more year and then hitting the UFA market the year the cap explodes was probably something that would have appealed to Reggie.

I realize SVG is an open and honest guy, but I really wish he wouldn't say things like this. Players and agents everywhere will start thinking of him as an easy mark.

Re: Reggie Jackson Resigns 5/80
Near the end of the regular season, the Detroit Pistons' point guard learned that his father, Saul, had been hospitalized with a diabetic seizure.Jackson learned this shortly after the team plane had landed in Detroit after a hard-fought, overtime victory at Boston. He needed to get to Colorado to be with his father but didn't know how long he would be away from the team, and a home game against Toronto was less than two days away.
The Pistons still had faint playoff hopes, and as a pending restricted free agent Jackson was still trying to make a good impression on his new employer after being acquired at the Feb. 19 trade deadline from Oklahoma City.Pistons president-coach Stan Van Gundy eased Jackson's concerns. He even told Jackson to take the team plane to Colorado Springs."It was weird for me, personally, because I was playing for my contract, but the team obviously told me don't worry about that," Jackson told the Free Press Monday after signing a five-year, $80-million contract extension.
"Just make sure everybody's good and they understand. That was crazy for me to even have to sit there and try to contemplate what was right to do — especially when most people in the office told me they would have immediately jumped on the plane with no thought about it — and that's kind of how this organization is run."It made me realize it was something special. It wasn't about winning games. It was about taking care of your loved ones."
Jackson said he was already sold on the Pistons' organization, but how he was treated while undergoing a personal crisis solidified his thought process: He was going to spend the next portion of his career with the Pistons. It's an example of how Van Gundy and owner Tom Gores are trying to create a player-friendly atmosphere. It's the right thing — and an added benefit is the hope word gets out and players view the Pistons as a viable destination.

Which is why hopefully they make him go all out every minute he's on the court. With Baynes here we can afford to rest him a little more. 30 minutes a game playing at 100% effort level is better than letting him stay in the games another 6-10 minutes playing at 70%
