Monty should have taken a TO, calmed everyone down and drawn up a final play.

Why give them a chance? Why shoot a fckin 3?

That was one exciting 4th quarter, but there's no reason we didn't see OT.. Monty should have challenged that obvious call.

I'm fine with no TO. Takes away a risky in-bounds play. Cade just has to know the situation. No excuses.

100% but once Miami got their defense set up it would have been nice to get a good play drawn up.

This one’s on Cade.

There’s no difference between 2 points and 3 points when you should be playing for the last shot and the score is tied. There’s no reason to take ANY three, let alone rushing to one that gives them the last shot.

Super frustrating. When you’ve got the ball with less than a shot clock left and it’s tied overtime should be the worst case scenario. Cade gift wrapped them a chance to end this and they took it.

Usually these plays are just your main guy going one-on-one and taking a shot anyways. Decreases risk of TO's, should allow for the most control of the clock to guarantee to you take the final shot, etc.

The 3 was unnecessary, but I don't even mind that if it was just taken at the proper time, with like a second left at most. He had a shorter defender on him and had just hit a step-back. Taking the shot with like 9-10 seconds on the clock is insane.

“You definitely have to swallow some ego,” Stewart told The Athletic. “As men, you’re always trying to prove who the best is and stuff like that. Once you get to a certain point … I guess, you see it for what it is. I’m just shooting you straight — there aren’t often plays called for me. For me, it’s, ‘How can I still impact the game?’ To me, I’d rather have the impact that I have, on defense. I feel like I can control the game that way.”

Why in the hell wasn't there a timeout, put Ivey and Cade on the floor together and call a play to either get an easy 2 or get to the foul line. No way we gave the Heat another chance to score. No way we just lost this game like this!

Tough loss Cade will learn from it.

INot that they all were out there today but Ivey+Duren+Ausar+Cade the "core 4" we cant have 3 non shooters on the floor together it will never work. Even having 2 non shooters is too many. Ivey under 33% on the season hes lost out there. We need a big change this offseason and Iveys spot is the easiest to upgrade.

Should have been OT at a minimum. Driving to the hoop usually gets you to the foul line. Run it down to the last couple of seconds. Oh well…

I'm a big Cade fan and will often go into bat for him, but not sure you can really spin that shot in any positive way. It was a straight up bad decision.

He said he took the shot as he was concerned he was about to get a double team - surely you'd pass it then as one of your teammates will now be open?

And Monty saying that nobody would be saying anything if Cade hit the shot - no s**t, but he took a bad shot and missed, so your comment is irrelevant.

I've been a pretty staunch defender of Cade, but he's been quite disappointing this year. The next GM, whenever Weaver is finally shown the door, is going to have to come in a do a complete teardown and expansion team day zero re-rebuild. Quite frustrating the last 4 years have been completely for naught; I don't think there's anything salvageable here.

There is no chance that the next GM could come in and convince Gores we need another few years of a rebuild. 100% if Weaver is fired he's going to be replaced by someone selling Gores on quickly moving this team into the playoffs. Literally fans chanting sell the team at home games and the worst losing streak of all time no one is going to get this GM job telling Gores we need 2-3 more years of being a 20s win team.

I dont think hes been disappointing. This is essentially his 2nd year as a pro. He came back from a serious injury this year and it took him time to get his feet under him. Not only by eye test but by the numbers hes made a big jump this season.

I'd be concerned if Cade was having a Ivey year two. What I mean is if you look at Iveys per 36 numbers and all his stats hes barely improved from rookie year to this season. Not by just stats by eye test hes not that much different of a player then he was as a rookie. Thats never a good sign in a young player.

I understand not winning is a problem. Our lineup sucks though and its really not a optimal fit for Cade. We need guys who can shoot and defend out there next to him. Troy has given Cade a terrible roster to work with.
