Rivers or Rodgers?

Post#1 » by igotit4cheap » Tue Jan 11, 2011 11:59 pm

I take Rivers no question, but I had a convo with a friend of mine and he thinks Rodgers is #3.

What do you guys think?

Rodgers... Just as effective thru the air and underrated athletically. Also he's more accurate when throwing on the run. The toughness and success he's showed thus far in the playoffs is very impressive. That said i would sell my soul to have Phil Rivers in Arizona.

Rodgers easily. Rivers is a bit overrated when all of his targets are 6'5 and catch every jump ball.

Rodgers for sure. I think Brady may be the only QB better at this point.

I know this is crazy because of the whole superbowl thing, but I think I actually would take Rivers. I don't have a great reason for it. I've loved both players since their college days. I don't understand how the Chargers keep losing when they have so much talent but I really don't blame Rivers. He was an MVP candidate earlier in the year. I think Rodgers has more eye catching games but I think Rivers is more consistent. That being said I would put them as numbers 3 and 4 best QBs right now. I only put Manning and Brady ahead and I'm not even sure that those guys are actually better.

I'd pass on it. While Rodgers may put up slightly better numbers than Rivers, Manningham is a huge downgrade over Johnson. You're RBs are pretty good considering you have Rivers and CJ.

Rivers takes much more time to deliver the football then Rodgers and therefore is more vulnerable to blitzes... When teams blitz him he screws up... Rodgers delivers the ball so dam fast. So Rodgers no doubt.

This isn't even close. Rodgers destroys Rivers. Rodgers should only be compared to Brady, Manning, and Brees, while Rivers is just forgettable
