I wonder how the Cowboys with two terrible backs have been in the top 13 in rushing the past 2 years.

Not to mention 3rd in the league in rushing TDs last year.

right buddy, totally unbiased over there. There all better than Clinton Portis and haven't even done **** in there career which puts them close to Clintons production.

So Jamal Lewis hasnt done anything in his career?

Ahh well i suppose being one of 5 guys in NFL history to rush for 2000 yards in a season just doesnt count for anything. (Only Earl Campbell had more yards in a season)

All time single game rushing record of 295 yards (on only 30 carries too)

The second rookie ever to rush for over 100 yards in a Super Bowl

It was Eric Dickerson that had more if I recall correctly.

and? If we're talking about records, Clinton has alot to him too. Youngest and fastest RB to reach 6000+ yards (only took him four seasons). Has the highest rush average at home, only second to Barry Sanders. The list goes on and on for him.

Whats comical is that your Cowboy friend thinks Jamal Lewis, Willis McGahee, Reggie Bush, Shaun Alexander, Rudi Johnson, Laurence Maroney, willie Parker and Brian Westbrook right now are better than CP. Not only has CP had careers as good or better than them, hes still producing like a top 10 back.

Whatever, come here and call Portis not even top 15 when he has another 1500+ yard and 15 TD season. Something hes on the pace for again this year. But yeah go ahead, pick Jamal Lewis and Willis McGahee over him  . We all know how objective and unbiased you are when you make that statement.

Although Earl was a beast, he never rushed for more than 2000 yards.

I
was pointing out how asinine it is to claim Jamal Lewis did nothing in his career. All that other **** has nothing to do with what i said. How you can even reply and claim Portis has more impressive records and performance is is beyond me. You're the biggest homer ive ever seen.

Numbers speak the truth. Ladell out rushed Julius Jones in half the starts. I'd much rather have his consistent power running betwen the tackles than Barbers stat padded 2 yard touchdowns.

Not only that but on a stat analyzing website, the guy mentioned that Marion Barber is severely overrated. Tons of his runs came in blowouts and on 3rd and longs padding his stats. The funny thing is, hes doing it again this year ripping off a 40 yard TD when the game was already over.

Yeah hes totally better than Ladell Betts who had 1500+ yards in 8 starts

Get the **** out hater. Julius Jones is GARBAGE. Marion Barber is an overrated stat padder.

More proof on the fact that Marion Barber is a stat padder:

First quarter numbers:

4 carries for 17 yards

Second quarter numbers:

9 carries for 39 yards

Third quarter numbers:

8 carries for 41 yards

Fourt quarter numbers:

19 carries for 159 yards

w00t! Not playing against defenses for three quarters and stat padding against worn down defenses in the 4rth while your completely healthy FTW!

Remind me when Barber rushes for 100+ yards in six straight games and amasses over 1500 yards in less than 8 starts like Ladell Betts did. What a luxury it is to sit on your ass for three quarters and come in to pad your stats for two consecutives weeks when the game is already over.

But while were comparing this years stats, I'm guessing Marion Barber > LT, LJ, SF, Frank Gore?

1500 yards in 8 games would be 187 yard per game. Ladell Betts has never rushed for more than 171 yards in a game.

Wait, do you mean 1500 total yards in a season where he started 8 games?

Yeah but you do keep running out of things to stay when I use stats to debunk every misconception you have.

 he had like 40 catches or something for more than 550 yards along with I think 1200 rushing yards despite starting for only half the season.

1154 yards rushing and 454 recieving in 9 starts.

Nice job exaggerating by saying 1200 and 550 in 8 games.

Its not like he didn't play in the other 7 games, too. He did.

Someone can turn right back around and say "Let me now when Betts gets 16 TDs in 1 start."

He probably can't even get 1 TD in 16 starts. He sucks in the red zone but hes a much better runner than Marion Barber. Barber has a nose for the end zone but he pads his stats big time which I proved earlier.

I'm the OP and I stated earlier that Barber > Betts, but the margin between Barber and Betts is much less than the one between Portis and Jones.

Arguing that guys like Willie Parker, Jamal Lewis, Laurence Maroney (looks like a Betts clone), and Willis McGahee are better than Portis is absolutely stupid on the parts of the posters who have suggested this. I would say LT and Steven Jackson are probably the only backs clearly better than CP.

The only other backs that compare about equally to CP are: Alexander, Johnson (we are seeing what he is doing now without Will Shields), Peterson, and Westbrook.

I am laughing at all these people suggesting Bush is better than CP. If anything, Bush is a poor man's Westbrook.

What separates guys like CP, Alexander, Johnson, LT, and Jackson from the rest of the pack is that these are guys who can get it done anywhere on the field.

What about dallas being no. 26 in ypc? Skins were 7th in total rushing last year (without CP half the season).
