Yeah, but he did his part. Another big back that can break tackles and has breakaway speed. Looks to have a good head on his shoulders like Conner too.

Re: 2013 Ask Jeff Risdon a Question
I remember him from the Michigan game last year but I attributed his success there to the Wolverine D stinking. I can get coach's tape from BGSU so I should be able to more thoroughly investigate Coleman.

I'm no expert when it comes to scouting talent for football, but his talent is pretty outstanding. Let me know what you think of him. I'm sure you'll like him.

I think he's very similar to what Mark Ingram was at Bama, a powerfully built one-cut runner with fast feet. Gurley is probably a little faster but also quicker on his cuts. Love his quick reaction to his vision, something that both Ingram and the similar Eddie Lacy do not have. Strongly believe he's a top 20 pick.

Let's say your the Vikings GM and you know Petersons done. In the upcoming draft, are all of these guys worthy of first/second round picks and can they start and contribute right away? Besides Gurley, Melvin Gordon, t.j. Yeldon, mike Davis, and that guy from Nebraska- Abdullah I believe.

Gurley and Gordon are first rounders, I strongly believe that will happen. Let's say the Vikings wind up somewhere between 5-11 and 7-9, that's picking in the 8-15 overall range. That's Gurley territory. Gordon goes 23-30. Not sure Vikings would pull the trigger on Gurley with their craptastic LB corps and Matt Kalil sucking so bad at LT.
Yeldon in the 2nd round would make a lot of sense. Abdullah is more explosive but has more volatility to his game.
One guy to watch in the middle rounds: Jay Ajayi from Boise State. I know the Vikings have already checked him out in person. Good versatile runner, good receiver, only a junior though.

He's f*ckin beastly. Only a sophomore, I think he's got a chance to be the best bama back yet

For anyone in the Chicago area, I'll be watching college ball all Saturday at the Park Tavern in Rosemont along with a couple of my favorite draftniks, Justin Higdon and Bill Carroll. Come on out and say hello, watch some ball and have a beer or six.

You still really high on IEO from Oregon? Still the top prospect in this draft?

I am still very high on him but he's not #1 overall. His lack of size is being more easily exposed this year. I will still have him as a top 10 overall talent (probably) but I doubt he gets drafted in the top 25.

Re: 2013 Ask Jeff Risdon a Question
they had a really interesting topic on the cowboys pre game show just now. a couple of the hosts were talking about how well the giants have done w/these very good 7-8 defensive linemen rotations and they theorized (especially if rosters expand even more on gameday) that we could eventualy see offensive linemen rotations in an effort to keep them fresh.
they mentioned that USC is already doing it w/their uptempo offense.
what are your thoughts on this?

I wouldn't want to waste that sort of cap room on the OL. You'd have to have no discernible dropoff from starting LG to backup G/C and no teams have that. I can see rotating offensive tackles but I'd never change centers.

I know he's only a sophomore, but where would you grade out Vernon Hargreaves III from Florida?

He's really good. Better than any they've had since Haden and they've had a lot of talent. Plucky, fast, good ball skills. Looks like a future 1st rounder.
