Marcus Mariota has turned the ball over twice this year. Twice. That's insane.

He actually lost three fumbles too, but it's not like that makes much of a difference at this point. Gordon would've run away with the Heisman in most other years.

Gordon is a great player but Mariota has 52 touchdowns this season and a historically significant passer rating so it makes it hard for anyone to come close to him. Factor in the fact that he's led Oregon to the playoff and Gordon was on a team that didn't score a single point in the big 10 championship and there just wasn't any way Gordon would win it over Marcus. That being said Gordon is certainly worthy of an invite and Wisconsin is blessed to have such a remarkable athlete. As an Oregon fan I feel incredibly honored to have had the privilege of watching Mariota play here for 3 years and Wisconsin fans should feel equally honored to have watched Gordon play.

New year!

I got this from Bovada, pretty lengthy list of candidates and odds here...

2015 HEISMAN TROPHY WINNER
Odds as of July 28 at Bovada
Trevone Boykin (QB TCU) +450
Ezekiel Elliott (RB Ohio State) +700
J.T. Barrett (QB Ohio State) +900
Jeremy Johnson (QB Auburn) +1200
Nick Chubb (RB Georgia) +1200
Cody Kessler (QB USC) +1200
Leonard Fournette (RB LSU) +1200
Cardale Jones (QB Ohio State) +1200
Deshaun Watson (QB Clemson) +1600
Dak Prescott (QB Mississippi State) +1600
Derrick Henry (RB Alabama) +1800
Braxton Miller (QB Ohio State) +2000
Malik Zaire (QB Notre Dame) +2000
Samaje Perine (RB Oklahoma) +2000
Connor Cook (QB Michigan State) +2500
Paul Perkins (RB UCLA) +3300
Everett Golson (QB Florida State) +3300
Royce Freeman (RB Oregon) +3300
Seth Russell (QB Baylor) +3300
Joshua Dobbs (QB Tennessee) +3300
Josh Rosen (QB UCLA) +4000
Corey Clement (RB Wisconsin) +5000
D.J. Foster (RB Arizona State) +5000
James Connor (RB Pittsburgh) +5000
Jared Goff (QB California) +5000
Brad Kaaya (QB Miami) +6600
Justin Thomas (QB Georgia Tech) +6600
Laquon Treadwell (WR Mississippi) +10000
Jacoby Brissett (QB North Carolina State) +10000
Jalen Hurd (RB Tennessee) +10000
Marquise Williams (QB North Carolina) +10000
Mason Rudolph (QB Oklahoma State) +10000
Nick Wilson (RB Arizona) +10000
Scooby Wright (LB Arizona) +10000
Taysom Hill (QB BYU) +10000
Tyler Boyd (WR Pittsburgh) +10000

My money would be on Jeremy Johnson. Wouldn't rule out Kessler at those odds either, USC is gonna be good and their marketing arm is unmatched. If Sparty is in the playoff I suspect Connor Cook will be a major reason why and he'll be in NYC as a finalist. I think the Buckeyes sort of neuter themselves out with so many of them in the running.

I'm going to take Kessler. 39/5 last season w/ 70% completion, he has has top two targets returning, and Mariota and Hundley are no longer in the division to take away his shine. Expecting big things out of the Trojans this season.

i dont see anything special about johnson, he looked nothing like cam that many hoping him to become. kessler has the best shot among qbs. seth russell is the best value, many has baylor in the playoffs and with the kind of offense they have i can't believe he is getting 3300. also like nick chubb, he'll get invited if georgia manages to win 9-10 games.

I got Leonard Fournette winning it, because he'll get as many carries (and yards and touchdowns) as he can handle.

He has to win the key games though. I know they lost a couple of games surprisingly, but I'm not sure if it had to do with him not being able to bring them back or making any mistakes. I'm interested to see his clutch factor this year. He is good enough to be a real stud in the nfl if he has that clutch factor. But even if you don't, you can still be in the nfl. Peyton Manning doesn't really have it. If he did he would easily be the best qb of all time.

Braxton Miller just might have his name up there along with Cardale and Zeke.

So much for Kessler winning the Heisman.... I'm jumping on the the Boykin/Fournette bandwagon.

interesting to see who wins it.

front runners id say are Fournette and Boykin

others i think you could make a case for is Seth Russell and Josh Doctson and a sleeper in Christian McCaffrey. If Ohio St used Zeke Elliot more, he'd be right there

It's funny to look back and see how things changed over the year. Fournette likely won't even get an invitation now let alone win the Heisman. Johnson got benched real fast, Kessler hasn't been anything too special overall.

It's just crazy how fast things can change in this sport
