Falcons sign Steven Jackson

Post#1 » by atlantabbq99 » Fri Mar 29, 2013 5:17 am

Great signing for the birds. Captain Jack is one of the, or if not, the best pass catching RBs since Marshall Faulk. it fits perfectly in what Matty Ice wants to do.

I like him replacing Turner.

I just hope he can stay healthy.

I think the Seattle Seahawks might disagree.

Also, Matt Ryan has 19 comeback victories in the 4th quarter or overtime.

The most of any quarterback since he came into the league.

You forgot to mention that it took a 4th quarter comeback with 25 seconds left for us to get to the NFC Championship.

Yes. Out of the 87 games we've played since our GM, Head Coach and QB arrived...those 2 losses clearly outweigh all the other dozens of times we've won.

And no other elite team has EVER lost in a Super Bowl or championship game.

The truth is this: Falcons are an elite team. Top 5 unquestionably. We are experiencing an unforeseen level of success for this moribund franchise. After 50 years of irrelevance, mediocrity and ineptness, we are legitimate contenders every single year.

And we will continue to be as long as we have our top 5 QB, our top 5 HC, and an owner committed to winning.

You wouldn't be trolling on our board otherwise. I doubt you spend time on the Panthers, Dolphins, Jaguars, raiders boards. They'd love to be where we are now.

I'm proud of the team and I'll take them anyday of the week.

PS Please go away.

I hope they can get it together and keep drives going, it's getting old to see big leads go away.

I think the coach Mike Smith is most reminiscent of is Bill Cowher. A guy who took over an ailing franchise and turned them into perennial contenders. He, early in his career, was labelled a choker as well. A guy not quite capable of winning the big one.

But he kept his teams competitive year in and year out, and eventually won a title before walking away. If Coach Smith keeps us competitive for the next decade and caps it all of with a single Super Bowl, I'd be more than ecstatic.

Hell, you can't be labelled as a choker if you're not playing in big games with big expectations.

Smitty has built himself a pretty impressive resume. Five straight winning seasons. Four playoff appearances. Two division titles. A 70% wining percentage.

Only things left are to improve that post-season record and make a Super Bowl run.

So by your logic Tom Brady's a choker for losing twice in the sb. And Peyton Manning is a choker for bowing out in the WC/Div round so many times. Eh it's kinda hard using logic against a troll
