Warriors Biggest Need

Postby Golden State on Sun Apr 29, 2012 1:54 pm

The W's starting 5 will compete well with other teams.
Obviously successful operations, 30 minutes per game, and few back-to-backs will go a long ways towards accomplishing that and put us back on the playoffs circuit.
The improvements should target an improved and superior support cast that doesn't give back well earned point advantages. In other words: The GSW Bench.

- CENTER: I prefer Kwame's play over Beans.
- PF I'd like the lotto balls to favor W's with #1 DP A Davis. I foresee a less intense Lee with fewer minutes/games next season (Groin op).
- SF: Assuming McGuire re-signs and is the 17 minutes guy again. (Why mess up what works?). I have to think GS puts a back court press on Odom to join the party. W's tend to shoot high, ...a good thing! RJeff & Dorell to new homes if Odom accepts.
- SG: Rush behind Klay? ... let it ride.
- PG: I do not think you can sign a better back up than Nate.

But here is the W's Biggest Need:

Lacob will pay top dollar for the next best NBA assistant coach..No worries there...

W's biggest need is a tie..Size/depth/rebounding/post D/shot blocking up front and a starting level PG who can take over once Steph breaks down.

Biggest need is to ask Beanbag to pretend to be a NBA player, so he can be traded for expiring.

Best way to get a superstar is one that is leaving his current team for one reason or another. Right now, Deron is a candidate and though Dallas will likely go hard to get him, they don't have the salary cap space or attractive players to get Deron. Warriors FO could offer Curry. the #7 pick and either AB or RJeff to the Nets for a resigned Deron. Add a resigned Nate or Jenkins or Tyler if needed.

Dwight is also in a troubled situation in Orlando. Offer something for him this offseason or next offseason, as long as he resigns first. Somthing like Bogut and Lee for Dwight and RAnderson.

Like with other trades for superstars, the team trading away the superstar never gets equal value in return, like Shaq to Miami, Barkley to Phoenix and then Rockets. A superstar on his way out of his current team is always the best chance of getting a superstar and at their cheapest.

-draft BPA
-resign McGuire and Rush
-bring back Kwame
-get Curry healthy and padding stats so we can trade him at the deadline

That's all I want done and I'll be happy.

I believe he's saying...

Chance a top 10 player signs with GSW - 0%
Chance a top 10 player comes out of the draft - more than 0%

So option B is better.
