Bogut Watch - now with AdonalFoyle4Prez's poll

What will eventually become of Bogut this season?

Yes, he will come to play, just not right now. Just give him maybe 1-3 months to fully recover...

Bogut Watch - now with AdonalFoyle4Prez's poll

Post#1 » by floppymoose » Wed Oct 3, 2012 9:18 pm

I added in the poll from AdonalFoyle4Prez's thread, since I locked that thread...

Starting it early....

here is something to whet your appetite. I found this when looking for footage of the Nets game where no one was in the stands because of SNOWPOCALYPSE.

Nice. I think we have the best passing frontcourt in the league, which is brilliant considering we're probably going to be the best 3 point shooting team in the league as well.

Check out the defense by Brook Lopez in that one. Were they really running a zone with him out on the wing? Or did he just go to sleep?

Think my favorite clip of a relatively unspectacular highlight of Bogut was in a game against the Kings when the Bucks were up by 3-4 in the last minute - Bogut shows on an Evans drive and plays D with his feet to force Evans into a horrible miss only for the ball to fall into Cousins hands in the lane. Cousins goes up for the two hand power dunk and Bogut comes from under the backboard to block him face to face with his left hand.

Totally unspectacular, incredible, game winning defense. I'd imagine after the recent history of this team that's the stuff that would get you excited. :)

Bogut and the bigs looking good. Bogut's moving well. I wouldn't push things with him in the preseason either...he's a vet and he knows what's up. It's good for him to be counselling guys on the sidelines anyhow until the real games start.

It amazes me that the fittest big in camp year after year is Biedrins and his vodka diet. Such good genetics. If he only had his head on straight...

Lee was 3rd in the entire NBA in mpg amongst PF's last season and over the last three years he's played 37mpg, 36mpg, 37mpg. I don't think we need to worry about whether he is in good shape or not.

He had surgery. I wonder if that may have contributed to the chunkiness. Either way, I pretty much agree. I won't worry about it until the season starts.

Biedrins not only looks fit, he looks so much faster than any of the other bigs. Such a waste of natural physical talent.

I've lost all my faith on him, really **** pisses me off.

Yep i just watched a game from early 08/09 season and he had about 8 boards in the first quarter and was all over the court on defense. Just an absolute waste agreed.

That makes some sense. He was chunky the year we acquired him from NY and he had laid off for the finger surgery. He was fit last fall. I didn't realize he had another surgery this summer. That makes me feel better that there's a cause and that he just didn't forget about cardio for the summer.

In general, I don't like weight fluctuations in athletes, particularly Big men. Big men putting on weight and losing the cardio conditioning in their legs can make for more frequent dings and injuries. It's generally better for athletes to maintain a fitness baseline year round. Of course 82 games is a long season and guys need a period of rest and recovery, but in the absence of an extended recovery/rehab layoff, the cardio should be well underway before they come to camp.

Ok, I give Lee a pass on the love handles if he had surgery again.

I think Lee numbers won't be as good! He's gonna have a tough time putting up 18-10. I wish we could trade him for a 6-11 shotblocker
