Bogut Watch - now with AdonalFoyle4Prez's poll

Moderators: Sleepy51, Chris Porter's Hair, floppymoose

What will eventually become of Bogut this season?

Yes, he will come to play, just not right now. Just give him maybe 1-3 months to fully recover...

No, he's damaged goods and will miss the entire season *sigh*

Move/trade him. Milwaukee had the better end of the trade.

We wont be able to do a standard MLE next year unless we make a trade...

If GSW stays in Lux Tax, their lux tax based MLE is at $3mil/yr. Why would Landry opt out of 4mil to get 3mil?

100% goner if GSW cannot get under the lux tax when Landry opts out.

Not only do we have to get under the luxtax, but I'm pretty sure we have to get 5m under it, in order to make Landry a MLE offer. Otherwise its mini-MLE. If he opts out, he's history

Who's Bogut?

I thought that was a name of a CBA loophole that lets us get rid of a detrimental contract in exchange for a draft pick.

And I thought he is the new Turkish Warrior mascot after Thunder was stolen by Stern?

If he stays then AB clears off the books the following year

Lets hope so.

The way these contracts are setup, just like Rush, you play for one year and re-evaluate. If you do great, your agent opts you out and get you a big paycheck. If you get injured, like Rush, you get an extra year to recover before hitting the FA market, or an extra year to pay for your retirement (sort of like Buike).

AB actually clears in 2013. I'd rather not bring in an unknown to replace Jack or Carl. We are just fine as is

For the Landry situation I haven't read up on the new CBA at all but based on the previous one we could offer him up to his previous salary + 20 % with non-bird rights.

Whole season.

Better to be pleasantly surprised than constantly let down.

There's a psychological study that put very simply says thinking optimistically means you're happy more often than not and are less affected by disappointing news with the opposite being true for those who think pessimistically. An optimistic person still feels good when they hear good news anyway, so with that I think it's only logical to be optimistic.

Also it's fun to make predictions :)

I'd trade him for Okafor and Jordan Crawford or Trevor Ariza.

Curry/Jack/Jenkins
Thompson/Crawford or Ariza
Barnes/Green
Lee/Landry
Okafor/Ezeli/Biedrins

I'd give them a second just to not have Jordan Crawford.

When Bogut does come back, I guarantee you teams don't score 131 points against us, he simply wouldn't allow that, especially against some crappy team!

YUCK.

Jordan reminds me of the poor man's version of another Crawford. Or a worse shooting Nick Young.

I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.
