I see a lot of people think the Warriors are
a top 4 seed in the west this season.

I don't know.........

I think a 5th or 6th seed is more likely.

SAS, LAC, OKC and the Blazers should all be better
than the Warriors this season.

Even Houston may be better if the Parsons trade
did not do them in and don't forget the much
improved Mavs club.

Marcus Thompson says 50 wins, and a WORSE offense.

LOL, is that even possible? We sucked donkey balls last year offensively.

This clown Ric Bucher thinks #7 seed and 50 wins.

53 wins, #4 seed. WCF

Although the West got better in the OS, Curry and Klay's game will be better this year, Green's utility has been recognized and he'll give more meaningful minutes. Most importantly, Livingston should be a vast improvement over what we got last year from the bench at the guard rotation, which will allow us to get more from Curry as an offensive weapon. Hopefully, we get more from Iggy as well. Biggest concern remains at #5...can bogut stay healthy, can Ezeli get healthy, can we get one more big to round out our squad in the event neither bogut nor ezeli are available?

For me it comes down to health, but that's the case with every team, every season.

Peoples' predictions I suppose hinge on how they feel about the roster - did the Warriors under- or overachieve last season? I like the roster a lot and think they very much underachieved. The great thing is we'll have our answer before long.

I'm still at 57....this will be the first year of Ezeli and Bogut and that's gonna be valuable. Even if Livingston misses a few games early, I feel his impact will be big as well.

Injuries? Of course.

We'll see how the line moves, but right now Vegas is forecasting Warriors as #4 team in the West, 6th in the NBA.

Ezeli is unrestricted. Iguodala's knee is full of miracle platelets. 82 wins.

What is the longest a team has made it into the regular season undefeated?

15-0 isn't that much. Floppy are you placing a bet :) The Streak (Lakers) was what, 35 games? Presumably not encompassing the start of the season.

Warriors have the eighth-best chance (25/1) to the NBA title and the sixth-best chance to win the Western Conference (10/1), via BovadaLV.

Prediction: 46-36.

Idiots, lol.

Prediction is too low for me, but I think "idiots" is a bit strong. There are some good reasons for knocking the Warriors down (almost inevitable injuries most of all). Plus, a lot of teams in the West are even stronger than last year. The Thunder should be better if Westbrook and Durant stay healthy. I will not make predictions about the Spurs being too old anymore. The Clippers and Mavs are improved. The Grizzlies are severely underrated. I also think Houston might be being overlooked at this point, I wouldn't count them out just yet. Not sure what to expect from Portland and Phoenix, we'll see if last year was a fluke or not, but they are very good teams. The Pelicans will probably still miss the playoffs but they will be better and be taking more wins away from a few teams this year.

I'm sticking with my prediction of 53 wins but nothing will come easy in this conference, it's going to take sustained good play and a lot of luck with injuries together.

One note..... I think we're already pretty aware that Durant isn't healthy. You might have missed something on that one.....

But I agree that you can't just call these guys idiots simply because you disagree with their prediction. This said, I certainly disagree with their reduction, and the basis for it - when you read the article, it pretty much comes off to say that we're taking a step back in coaching, and only talks about Kerr coming on-board with no coaching experience. Yet the reality, as we're already seeing, is that we have a remarkably deeper and better coaching staff in the combination of Kerr, Gentry, and Adams (for starters) compared to Jackson and his staff.

Previously in this thread I predicted 55 wins. I'm sticking with that.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

You're right, Chuck, Durant being out will hurt OKC. Nonetheless, with regards to the Warriors and seeding, I think they will recover in time to still finish above the Warriors in the standings. Durant should be back in early to mid December, which still leaves a lot of time for them to get rolling. Of course, he might need some time to shake of the rust, integrate back into the team, and then there is always the possibility of complications, so it could end up being a big factor.

Kerr/Gentry/Adams can coach better than Jackson in their sleep, I will be shocked if this team is not at least top-10 offensively this year and top-5 is very attainable. What I still have concerns about (aside from injuries) is turnovers, unforced errors. Even there, a more structured offensive system and better game prep should help, although the emphasis on increased ball movement and possibly more complexity from triangle elements may counteract it to some extent.
